Another guy who looks to provide the opportunities but we enough shooters to put the puck in the net?
He sounds a very decent player but we were hoping for goals from the last couple of players.

Let’s hope we get the benefit of a “bounce back” year from him, the +/- from previous years is defo a good sign. The link up with Archambault and Diffley speaks well to the gel factor.
Still awaiting the crazy signing.. But needs to be a goal machine!
One observation overall, we all noted the face off issues last year, but the other issue we had, which we did shore up somewhat - I haven’t seen the toughness factor in any of the new signings. Unless the “swing” player incoming is totally pun-tastic….

Not sure how a good pts return in Slovakia (probably with the fun and games of Slovakian club management in the background), is a poor season? Very similar ppg to Watling the season before he joined us.
Doesn't look like a major drop off at all.

A well worn saying often inaccurately credited to Einstein. “If you keep doing the same things and expect a different outcome you are likely to be disappointed.”
I fear what many of us worried about from Fox seems to be coming to be. It looks awfully like another mid table season.

On the club website he describes himself as a creative centre who likes making good passses to set up colleagues. All very nice but apart from Balmas, who is he going to pass it to? Looking at teh team as a whole we need a goal scoring centre.

Balmas/Teissala (who I think is getting underplayed as more difficult to judge coming from Liiga), Juusola. That's half of the top 6. Dowd/Jasper and then Tait in bottom 6. That's before Whistle/Collins added in.
We look to have more output potential on D too with Roe than we did last year.

Of course. Does this realy constitute the upgrade from last season that was so obviously needed, given the Belfast aren’t standing either?ginger wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2026 1:03 pmBalmas/Teissala (who I think is getting underplayed as more difficult to judge coming from Liiga), Juusola. I like to do a goals prediction each season based on the goals per game scoring rate of each player and an adjustment to reflect the league(s) they've played in.
I only go back 3 seasons and put a heavier waiting against last season compared to 3 seasons ago.
My current prediction is
Belfast 214
Sheffield 192
Nottingham 191
Cardiff 187
There is an allowance in there for unsigned players (ie. Our remaining centre).
I've only got one of our players to score more than 20 goals and that's Balmas down for 28.
Belfast I've got Conway, Kawaguchi, Bates and Pearson over 20.
That's why I was a little disappointed this morning. We've got plenty of players capable of assists (my mate has us top of this category) and Rockwood adds to this, but who are the natural goal scorers capable of putting the chances away?
The balance doesn't feel right to me. If we want to get close to Belfast, I think the final forward needs to be a scorer.
