How and why has a player of that calibre come to the EIHL?
Money talks I imagine

Playing in the AHL he'll be very solid, but I can't say I'm blown away by his numbers.

I'd expect the Panthers signings today to have more of an impact on the scoreboard.

Has to be good to play 3 years in AHL from 22 onwards. Also in comparison slightly better AHL ppg ratio than Chiampini but 7.5 years his younger.

I've no doubt he will be very good, but purely based on his past stats I don't think I'll be putting him down for anything above 20 goals.

His NCAA stats are decent, but nothing more than that. Adam Brady who played for Panthers last season heavily outscored him in the NCAA, although Brady was probably a bit older.

Looking closer to home, we've signed Mark Simpson who played 2 curtailed seasons in the AHL straight after college hockey.

In fact one of those seasons in the AHL he topped the +/- stats on his team. We all have Simpson pencilled in for our 3rd line.

Don't get me wrong, I had Belfast favourites before this signing and it certainly makes them stronger, but I don't think the chasing pack are that far away.

It's now up to Mr Smith to make sure Fox can get that 25+ goal winger we require to complete our 1st line.

I've only just picked up that we've now formally announced Colton Saucerman.

I'm glad this one is now finally banked, because I really like the look of him and think he'll be perfect for the big ice of the EIHL.

His two seasons in Europe he was top defenceman on his team for +/- and it sounds like he skates really well.

Whilst I still have a few question marks over our forwards (let's see what we finish with), I do really like the look of our back end and think it's an improvement on last season.

Schulze/Piche/Phillips v Saucerman/Tansey/Diffley - For me that's a decent upgrade.

Looking forward to seeing the final pieces of the puzzle.

True, but a 25year old that's played 3 straight seasons in the AHL, putting up half decent numbers shouldn't be looking at the UK, surely?

Probably not, but maybe he thinks his best option is to ease his way into the bigger ice of Europe using one of the weaker leagues as a stepping stone. He'll also have the benefit of speaking the same language.

If you look at his AHL numbers they're not that different to Simpsons on a pro rata basis.

How many forward slots do we have left?
Is it 4? 3 signed up with 1 being spoken to at the moment - the guy Fox has identified as the main man he wanted?

3 I believe. Potentially Juusola, Allen and a new top line winger.

I think it's 3, with 2 having been signed up (possibly Juusola and/or Allen).
