Just wishful thinking Doom. Was intrigued to see that he's still not signed up (could be just not announced) anywhere given his ability. Watched him play numerous times. Pro debut at 16, International debut at 18, played for arguably the best team in Austria for years and consistently above .90% in tough leagues.Doom wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 11:21 amI wouldn't object.teeLIST wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 10:16 amNetminder announcement Friday morning.

Any basis to this (ie. He's started following us on Twitter) or just wishful thinking?

A good age and good numbers, but I suspect he'll probably end up in a better league than ours.....we can live in hope.Tom Moore wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 4:03 pmClint Windsor mentioned on Twitter:

I would be surprised if not Ostlund as has been rumoured on the usual social media accounts that have had a lot of accurate predictions-especially our incoming.
I dont like the suggestion and would be surprised if true that Foxy getting him in for preseason games to scope out and if not up to it hunt for someone else. Thats never a sensible way to recruit potential most important player in our league. Nettie search should be an early and main priority.

To be honest I'd take most of the names suggested on here over Ostlund, but I'm guessing most of them will be out of our price range.
If Windsor does sign for Coventry then I would be disappointed, but my guess is he won't.
If you look around the league at our main competition:
Kozun at Cardiff has limited ECHL experience averaging below 90%.
Jones at Belfast is relatively inexperienced at professional level and averages around 90% at ECHL level.
Dubeau at Nottingham had a decent 91% in the DEL last season, but he only played 9 games all season.
There is also Bowns and Whistle. I think Bowns is probably on the decline and his numbers are starting to drop. Whistle did well last season, but he was in front of a very good Belfast defence and his numbers were well behind Besko.
None of the above are what I'd describe as 'stud' netminders, but perhaps this is where our league is now in terms of affordability.
