I’m going for a big re-signing such as Látal or Dowd as season ticket deadline is approaching.

Historically its been the announcement that Captain Fantastic Jonathan Phillips has signed up for next season...
and those on multi year contracts or Uni places returning...

I'll take that as a given then Jay! One last season for him I reckon.....

well he is never going to be a top 6 player but he is at least as fit if not more so that half the current squad...

I'd be quite happy to see Jono back. He is still one of the fastest skaters and one of THE best penalty killers in the league.

We don't have any multi year contracts do we for players? Not a fan of Uni deals.

well he is never going to be a top 6 player but he is at least as fit if not more so that half the current squad...

I'd be quite happy to see Jono back. He is still one of the fastest skaters and one of THE best penalty killers in the league.

As far as I can see our entire squad is out of contract.

Thankfully our university deals with Hallam are now only one year.

@EIHLRumours on Twitter (who have a pretty poor record when it comes to Steelers rumours in the past) have linked David Phillips to the Hull Pirates.

I assume they mean the new incarnation of Hull NIHL hockey the Hull Seahawks.

No sources or anything but as it’s silly season always worth a post in here to generate discussion, he is from Hull of course.

I think Davey has been a brilliant player over the years of the Steelers and he seems a great character.

For me, I don’t think he’s been good enough this season and think that he’s played his last season in Orange. Father Time appears to have caught up with him in my opinion.

Fox needs to find some younger blood if we want to improve on last season as apart from the league we were miles off where we need to be.

I agree we need to get younger generally.

However it’s a tough task to find quality Brits who are worth dropping Phillips for, not a lot out there.
