Oh dear. One goal against the back up door opener when he had skated towards the bench. Embarrasing form and effort continues from the team.
To me Foxy should be hard on the guys this week because the effort over past 6-8 weeks has been way below what we should expect and I'm surprised he's allowed it to go for so long. Even with injuries.
Rok another 95% showing or so. No blame there at all.
I think there are many reasons for how this is now going but I see a major clear out will likely be needed next year.
Need some fresh, young, hungry players.

I have 3, maybe 4 imports on my definitely retain list.paul johnston wrote:Oh dear. One goal against the back up door opener when he had skated towards the bench. Embarrasing form and effort continues from the team.

The real concern for me is that the last three games, against 2 of the bottom 3, is that we've gone into the third period leading. For whatever reason we haven't been able to go on to take the win. Our PK seems woeful just now, we're skating in treacle, and have totally lost the Steelers grit.
We've only 5 days to dress the issue or we're in for a very difficult weekend in Belfast.

Fox is under some pressure now and I liked his honesty from the interview with Pete Spencer yesterday. He needs to inject some jump into the players and quickly.
I can forgive losing to Belfast with our best players sat in the stands as I’m sure if you take Belfast’s two best players out they’d struggle as well.
However, we should still have enough to beat bottom and 3rd from bottom of the league who played their backup netminder in both games.
Thing is quite a few of us saw this coming even when the team kept grinding out the wins. The team were riding their luck, which has run out. I was told that performance was secondary during this grinding out win stage. Well if your performance isn’t up to scratch those scrappy wins turn into scrappy losses.
I fear for the Belfast games and losing both even with plenty of hockey to play hands them the title for me.

I fear for the sanity of some of the posters on here and wonder if any watched the game. Steelers were not gutless they fought hard but came up against a backup goalie who played out of his skin.

It’s called bipolar disorder I’m quite sane most of the time apart from the odd occasion when our team is lacking the conviction to see out a win, however the oppositions backup was playing. Capitulating to Dundee and Fife is not to my liking when we were in such a strong position for the league just weeks back, sorry for expressing a different opinion to yourself.

To be fair, for how many years have we been wanting a league where anyone can beat anyone on any given night? We've wanted it for years, we've now got it & folk are moaning that we shouldn't be losing to them!
Gone are the days when we roll into Dundee & Fife & score 6,7,8 goals.
I hate losing I can't stand it but I'll give Dundee & Fife credit, they came at us hard & won, got the 2 points, onto Belfast where you watch....we will do the business, just my opinion but it will be a split weekend. We'll win on Friday but Belfast will edge it on Saturday.
Well played to Dundee tonight, the better team over the weekend won, still a long way to go in this league fight & I can't imagine out boys will give up.
