Extremely disappointing result but im not surprised. Jay, we've been in a poor (performance) patch for months, just managed to eek out the wins. We've struggled offensively as we don't have real strong offensive flair apart from a few individuals, and the few flair players we have have have either under achieved, long periods of injury, been moved on for other reasons.
We also have an issue with conceding due to individual errors and taking silly penalties.
I also think we are a one dimensional team and when plan A isn't working we don't have alternatives. I'm not seeing a lot of Steeler character and bottle at the moment.
Hopefully we get Latal, Vally in the line up soon, and along with the two new signings added, hopefully that will make a difference.
Unless we really buck up our ideas we could really struggle in the series against the Giants, let alone the games v the others.
It may be time to throw the dice and try to put a real offensive, top line out there rather than trying to have equal line quality. I'm not sure what three I would throw together for that though.
How we could do with a third crash and bang line with a power forward, take no prisoners attitude!

You've hit on my major gripe of this team, and any Steelers team not showing grit and determination. And that's challenging characters and by challenging I mean gritty, determined, pain in the arse guys that go the extra mile to win like Vallerand, Eberle and Connolly type players. We all know the ones we have had in the past, they step up and stick their nose in were it doesn't belong, skate that extra yard for a loose Puck and agitate the hell out of the opposition hot heads and drag a team over the line sometimes when the team are running on empty..
To me the Polak, Sointu, Traversa type guys are just too vanilla, same too, Schulze, Ellerby etc
I've said it before, but I think we need more of those type players personally.

We’ve scored exactly the same as Belfast but have conceded 25 more goals.

It looking very likely to come down to the games against Belfast. They are looking extremely strong at the moment but a couple of injuries or illness in the camp can be extremely disruptive.

I’d wager Mr Beskorowany is a big part of that stat.
One hell of a tender and one I’d of loved to see here. I remember watching him when we played Edinburgh I think it finished 7-1 if it hadn’t of been for him it would of been a cricket score.

That seemed the way, but with the way we have been performing against so called lesser teams we need to be wary of the other fixtures that seem to be predominantly Storm and Panthers too. You can just imagine the Panthers putting a couple of decent performances in to dent our title hopes.

Another thing that was disappointing about last night's result was with equalising late in the second period, then taking the lead so early in the third, we should have taken the wind out of the sail of the flyers and shut down the game.

So the way bobs article reads in the latest star article Vallerand out long term!! I was lead to believe he’d be back in another week, if this is true I can’t see us been in with a chance of the title.

Attendance: 571. How many does Leeds arena hold? Can they have reason to join the league?

Would imagine it costs in electric than 571 fans bring in.
