You remember the row over the streaming of the European games when they tried to screw the fans ? , this is just the same attitude but at a league level, who's the league chairman ?.. riiiight.
Add all these things together , add in the shameful way volunteers have been treated this season, the way certain steelers staff ignored the mask requirements when selling 50/50 during breaks. These are not the actions of a family club, they need a shake up to put them back in touch with the real world for once. Some folks are are so far up there they haven't seen daylight in years.
Play off final weekend ticket Prices!!

My take on it is this - It will be the first playoffs I will miss since 1996. As a concession, the cost is double what we paid last time. How can anyone justify that hike? I appreciate that there has to be a charge for card payments etc, but how can £10 per ticket be justified? £5 to Nottingham and £5 to SSSC. who say it covers admin time as well as card charges. Since when have SSSC been paid admin time? Are they now paid instead of being volunteers? It has always been the case that all money raised by SSSC goes directly to the Steelers. Has this now changed? It will be something I ask them if I see them in Nottingham tonight! Either way, I am not prepared to be ripped off like this for an event that has lost its shine and decreased in value since it moved to Nottingham. There used to be things to do in between games, stalls to visit, competitions to enter etc. Now there isn't even time to go for a meal between games and all be have is raffles and 50/50 and a worthless 3rd and 4th playoff that no one is really interested it (especially the players). I will be watching on TV this year!

Presumably at Free for the first month then the leagues own sponsor (PremierSports) is going to be the fans go to channel and at £129 for a full year it certainly looks a better value for money option...vial wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 3:56 pmMy take on it is this - It will be the first playoffs I will miss since 1996. It's an even bigger slap in the face to all EIHL fans, many of whom have supported their teams through two years of the pandemic buying all their 50/50s, raffles, merch etc. when they needed the cash most, and this is the thanks they get back? A near 60% increase to a family of 4 that is so bonkers high, energy price hikes are about the only thing that out does it!
Whilst we still intend going, this price increase does leave a nasty taste.
I could have accepted £100, but £120 and no concessions is ridiculous.
I will be really angry if I purchase my ticket and then due to the lack of uptake, which is likely, they reduce the prices to fill the arena.

I’m afraid it’s a No from our family after 23 years of supporting this club through thick & thin. I get that it’s not just the Steelers but a league decision however this cost will be at the same time as the season tickets coming out so that’s where our money will go.
There will be 5 adults from this family, 2 of which should under normal circumstances be concessions, not attending. We are all working, all earning decent wages but we just cannot afford or justify it.
For something that calls its self a FAMILY sport then hits that very fan base with a massive price hike is hypocrisy it’s self.
The poor supporters that have extensive travel, accommodation and food for 2 days or more must be in bits. Who from Fife or Dundee or Glasgow are going to lay out that expense. There will be some from Belfast cos they will be in with a shout.
It’s going to be the league relying on Sheffield and Nottingham fans to carry this over the line and that is no disrespect to any other fan base and there passion for their club, I say it from a purely financial view point. We are the fans who live locally and will have the least add on expenses.
Poor show Elite League. This is no way to build the sport only to alienate fans who have been loyal throughout a difficult 2 years.

But you and fans like you that can afford to go, maybe on their own and meet up with mates, who have disposable income, recognise the inflated prices but still choose to go, are in some part part of the problem..
This is the thin end of the wedge.
Pay up £120 now and they still fill the NEC, then next year it will be £140 and so on..
All that does is price everyone else out if the playoffs bud...

What a dreadful decision. This basically prevents families from attending and actively discourages kids from the highlight of the EIHL calendar.
Not having children there will really change the atmosphere, and not for the better.
Short-term it makes no sense and long-term it's bonkers. A huge strategic error and I hope they suffer by not selling all the tickets.
After the anxiety of 2 years of furlough, redundancy and job insecurity, even if we could spend £500 (which could have pre-lockdown), it's nowhere near value for money. I hope everyone votes with their wallets and stays away.

All the comments on your forum are exactly the same as many other forums around the league. Rivalries aside we all enjoy playoff weekend a time to also meet with friends and all have a good time, what a shame the 10 clubs hierarchy see fit to treat their loyal fans like this, I don’t even have to pay for accommodation or travel etc but our group which had 42 tickets over 2 rows last year will not be going to playoffs this year. Online booking only, can’t choose a seat, no priority to season ticket holders and almost double for our concessions and children in the group what a poor show.
We are going to ask around one or two of the big pubs in town to see if they would consider showing the playoffs, I know the Legend are going to stream it.

What I never understand is how the EIHL can be so insulated in their views and not have the first clue what a massive number of their customers think?
How can the fans avoid thinking that the powers in charge of the EIHL actually don't care at all and just treat them as cash cow's!
Time and time again it as been proven that if a company or organisation treat their customers badly, they will suffer long term..
