We had already decided not to go after the weekend was put back a week and the cost of hotels went up so this doesn't really affect us, but if we hadn't already cancelled I think we would have been.

We can literally have a week away including all food and spending money for the cost of just the hotel and tickets for 3 of us. I don't know what other clubs are like but I definitely get the feeling from Both the Steelers Management and the League Management that most important thing in regards to the fans, in their opinion is how much cash can they squeeze out of them.

They may regret this i've seen a couple of the league/steelers can do no wrong brigade, usually the first to defend the league/Steelers having a go this morning. Those fans are as much to blame as our Dear leader because they've just lapped up what ever has been given to them for so long the League can do what they want. The problem is there are enough people who will just go anyway because "the only other option is not to go" It's like they've got Stockholm Syndrome

I'm just massively disappointed in them all. We've a decision to make regarding continuing our season tickets for next season. At the moment i'm leaning towards we'll just pick and choose a few games and do something else. To be honest I think the turning point from probably getting Season tickets next year to probably not getting them was the debacle over trying to charge £30 for a free stream.

I still enjoy the Hockey, I'm still a Steelers fan but everything else just leaves a sour taste.

Has anyone seen a reasonable and balanced explanation for the massive increase in prices ?. Coming on top of everything else this will be too much for many families.

£115 for 3 competitive games and 1 dead rubber game......thats a big fat nope from me and the family.
When I factor in travel, food, drink and accommodation costs it's cheaper and better value to have a week in the sun instead.

What a ripoff and a complete two fingers to all the hockey fans who support their clubs week in week out. We have supported Steelers from day one and so sad to miss the playoffs but as a family of four no way can I justify the costs after already losing money through cancelling the hotel previously when the date was moved. Just hoping I can cancel the hotel this time and get my money back. A very sad time for British ice hockey. And why do tickets have to be bought through the supporters club to add another £5 per ticket? Disgusting.

Can I ask what is probably going to be labeled a set of stupid questions..

Why do I have to pay £120 each for my kids too :hey:

I thought we we a family?

No! OK :Gob:

Isn't Ice Hockey in the UK a family sport any longer? :wonder:

Wasn't we told at some point, (i am sure someone will correct me) that going and getting tanked up at the Pub, then going to a Hockey match not the type of image the Sport was looking to promote.. ?

Isn't the Playoffs just one massive Pi$$ up aimed at the yoof with more money than sense?

Getting to the point where the sport doesn't deserve the fans it has , if you are truly unable to afford / unwilling to pay this much please go and support the Steeldogs instead.

Well, I'll vote with my feet, no chance I am paying £480 for a family of 4.

That's without hotel, food etc, I'd rather have a week or 2 in the Sun.

I worry for sport on a whole, they seem to think that people have a bottomless pot of money, they dont, especially in times that we are living in.
