Towering 6”8” defenceman Taylor Doherty and Nottingham have parted company by mutual consent.

Doherty moves well for a big man although didn’t use his massive frame nearly well enough. But with D men hard to find right now, there will be EIHL suitors.

Doherty has in fact moved on to Slovakian Extraliga side HK Dukla Michalovce.

That's a pity, I wouldn't have said no, to some size in our team, I actually liked him as a player...

He was a decent player for sure, very mobile given his size and a good first pass. For me just wasn’t physical enough at 6”8” you have to at least try and lay a hit now and again or forcefully drag forwards out of the crease.

One of those players that frustrates you as a fan. Big unit, good passer and should be keeping his netminder protected which he did early in the season. The last few games I’ve seen him, he just looks like a bit of a poser.

I don’t feel Ronberg was to be honest, I think he was over sold to us. Take the hype away and you had a steady as you go DMan.
