I think they did the correct thing, if they hadn’t published anything the rumours would have been all over the place and there is the chance it would be leaked.
This way they have been up front, I don’t think they have thrown him to the wolves, they offered no excuses.

According to the 2 Ales & Hockey Tales podcast hosted by former Cardiff Devils forward Brent Walton, with David Simms as guest, DeLuca is set to join ECHL outfit Trois-Rivières Lions in his home province of Québec.

If it should happen that DeLuca is found to have taken a recreational drug and is given either a lengthy suspension or outright ban by the authorities here then wouldn't such a ban also apply to other leagues as well ? , seems unfair that someone could avoid the consequences of their actions by simply playing in another country.

I guess it would depend on the exact circumstances I.e what the banned substance actually is.mark wrote:If it should happen that DeLuca is found to have taken a recreational drug and is given either a lengthy suspension or outright ban by the authorities here then wouldn't such a ban also apply to other leagues as well ? , seems unfair that someone could avoid the consequences of their actions by simply playing in another country.
Allegedly he’s had to submit his mitigation statement to UKAD.

I’ve not heard the podcast. If that’s true then why hasn’t the club officially announced it?SteelerBlade wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 1:58 pmAccording to the 2 Ales & Hockey Tales podcast hosted by former Cardiff Devils forward Brent Walton, with David Simms as guest, DeLuca is set to join ECHL outfit Trois-Rivières Lions in his home province of Québec.
The club Media department requires significant improvement, we shouldn’t get to hear updates on a player via a random podcast.

The club media department has been extremely poor for a long time alongside off ice/management decision making. Both could do with improving big time.smbmetal wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 5:25 pmI’ve not heard the podcast. We actually didn't did we? Technically we heard it from someone who says they heard it, you couldn't make it up....smbmetal wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 5:25 pmI’ve not heard the podcast. If we consider the 'we' as a collective term for the fans! then we didn't hear a thing..

DeLuca had until yesterday to submit his response to the UKAD charge. If found guilty, he’ll face a suspension of 3 months.
