Anthony DeLuca has been caught doping and tested positive for a banned substance.

He’s suspended with immediate effect indefinitely.
It certainly hasn’t been performance enhancing drugs.

The investigation is with UK Anti-Doping.
I’d imagine this test was from the Continental Cup as I can’t see the EIHL doing testing themselves.

Poor judgement obviously by DeLuca. He's been off his game this season considerably by his own standards. If that's because he's developed a substance abuse problem then I hope he gets the help he needs.

So nothing can be certain and It would be preferable to give Anthony the benefit of any doubt if it exists.
A natural but by no means certain conclusion to the statement thats it was not performance enhancing drugs is that they were recreational drugs instead obviously the most common is marijuana!
It could be a substance found in a common medication although unlikely has I think now most of those active ingredients that crop up in cough syrup and such have long since been listed, and isn't much of a defence anymore...
If the drug test was taken in Demark I think they are trying very hard to overcome their reputation for being a generally a liberal society were cannabis smoking was not always seen as a serious offence and stepping up the enforcement of their Cannabis laws..
I really do hope its not one of the more sinister Class A recreational drugs!

If this is for "recreational" drugs then it is a medical issue, addiction is genuine problem and needs professional support.
It is however a massive disappointment for the Steelers especially when we are already short benched.
I'll not make any other comment until more facts have emerged, if they ever do of course. There are plenty of reasonable questions over who knew what and when and whether any actions could or should have been taken to prevent this.
Meantime the most urgent task is to check the music playlist for tonight and delete anything inappropriate , so no High Ho Silver Lining , no White Xmas , Cocaine , Let it Snow etc etc.
