He was ready to finish 3-4 years ago. Nothing has changed my mind! Slow, loses puck possession too easily with misplaced passes.

Overall an excellent performance. We got into trouble defensively at times mainly I thought when the D were joining the offemsive rush too keenly.
As per Doom I'd be very happy with the D Corp, would probably have to swap one of the import d for Tron? That would be Beaudry for me.
Churchie is an interesting one. Not sure quite a number one starter level quality for us yet but way better than a typical back up here.
Mikyska has grown on me too. A shame that Olden hasn't experienced the full Steelers experience to help encourage him to come back a few years down the line.

Tough one on the D, as I thought Beaudry was really good last night, but I wouldn't want any of the other 3 to be on another team, and adding Tron to them coupled with Phillips and Sam Jones, we'd have a really nice looking D.paul johnston wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 7:42 amOverall an excellent performance. Olden has played for Fox before, so I'd guess while ever Fox is here, we at least have a chance at seeing Olden come back at some point.

A tough call for me, has I am never keen on seeing a player return or even arrived based on his form 2/3 season ago.. I would much more prefer (I know it really isn't that easy) Fox to be attracting the likes of Sondre Olden quality now... and for me would hold out for somebody of his skill or slightly lower at a similar age, than a player further along in his career who has lost a yard or two...ginger wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 10:55 amTough one on the D, as I thought Beaudry was really good last night, but I wouldn't want any of the other 3 to be on another team, and adding Tron to them coupled with Phillips and Sam Jones, we'd have a really nice looking D.paul johnston wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 7:42 amOverall an excellent performance. I think your being a bit to hard on the guy if I am honest, especially in the context of a 4th line forward in an mini series that's not meant to be near the level of the normal elite league games... if you didn't like him before I can see why you would even consider changing you mind has he basically plays like the Bulldog always did.. but if you want a guy back on the 4th line that will break his balls for the club and buys into the Steelers club ethos and adores its fans, I dont think you would have to look to far from the Bulldog...paul johnston wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 7:34 amHe was ready to finish 3-4 years ago. Yeah Jay, I know the score with the series. Was a great servant in his day for sure.

I really liked our energy and the pace we played the game. Churchfield does look raw right now, but I'm sure will benefit from this earlier than expected exposure to this level of hockey.
The new imports look to be settling, with Olden absolutely looking the real deal.

Olden is only 27 and is signed in the second division Swiss league next season. I don't think we can come close to competing with the wages offered there.Jayboy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 12:11 pmA tough call for me, has I am never keen on seeing a player return or even arrived based on his form 2/3 season ago.. I believe Colton Fretter came from that same league in his 30s.
