I did think that we had actually got a professional social media person running it now?Look at who's actually in charge of what gets posted on Steelers media and ask yourself that question again.

Nonsense, you would see who we'd signed on here, you could check the club's website, you could follow any of the EIHL signing update type accounts instead, you could check the EIHL rosters page, you could follow Peter Spencer's account when he posts the usual signing interviews, the list goes on.Rendo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 3:43 pmThats not a problem solved as I wouldnt know who we had signed if I didnt follow them on twitter, as I dont have any other social media platforms to use.Clear The Zone wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 10:03 pmRight.....that's it?
Just stop following the account. Problem solved.
Let's face it, the club's social media output during the offseason is just a dismal brainless tide of dross that is neither use nor ornament to anyone, which they have to do because all the platforms demand hyper-regular posting if you want to be seen, even if you have nothing to say (twitter is *particularly* bad for this). Do yourself a favour and unfollow at the end of the season, and re-follow in September if you must.

Officially confirmed as Logan Roe.
Overall I'm pleased with this signing, even though it does add to the feeling that we're turning into Dad's Army.
He's a big body and it looks like he'll be very good in transition, having been top points scoring defenseman on his ICEHL team these past 4 seasons.
The only negative is that last season he was one of the worst defensemen on his team in terms of +/-, having been top the previous 3 seasons. A sign age is catching up with him or some other reason?
He's here for 2 years and I'm pleased to see we're using our link up with Sheffield Hallam again.
Overall pleased with this, although it now looks unlikely that Dougherty will return, which disappoints me.

I'd say his +/- is pretty reflective of the team's overall stats - the whole team didn't perform as well as previous seasons.Doom wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2026 6:15 amOfficially confirmed as Logan Roe.

He was selected to the ICEHL all star team in 2025 so don't expect the drop off to have been too dramatic in one year so suspect more a general team issue than anything else

Feels like a Tansey direct replacement maybe?
Re the remaining slots, Aaron Fox is saying one more D man (signed - and hush hush lol), that answers the “full step up” for Steele question and we’re running with 6.
Also:- “Once the latest signing is announced, Aaron Fox will have just two forward positions and one swing player left to complete his squad ahead of the start of the 2026-27 Elite League season.”

Erkamps looks great. Right shot, defensive minded with excellent experience.
Think he's definitely going straight in to partner Cormier.
D looks good overall - best 2 imports retained, Brit upgrade, a top pair ICEHL offensive D and 2 solid defensive Dmen from higher quality leagues.

Erkamps looks decent, although for the role he's likely to perform I would have liked to have kept Dougherty instead.
All the other 4 import d are lefties, so it's good to get a right shot on board.
The defence looks decent to me, but a lot will rest on the development of Steele. Based on his size and skill set he has a high bar, but can he reach his full potential? - time will tell.
The netminding does worry me though. Greenfield had his worst season last year (statistically) and Brine is yet to have a 90% season. If you think of netminding in terms of 0.3 goals extra conceded per 1%, then a 93% netminder concedes nearly 1 goal a game less than a 90% netminder.
