And there is the rub... I don't believe Fox is willing to change his coaching style... Tony isn't willing to see this and we are set for the same again next season...

Agree , coach is not going to change his style, hasnt done over years he has been here. All i want is an entertaining product on the ice and hopefully some success thrown in as a bonus, not going to get entertainment value with foxys style

I think that’s probably a correct summary.

Tony isn’t likely to change anything while there’s an amazing average of around 8,000+ at home games. I’m sure tremendous hard work goes into maintaining this level.

It’s clear that for the majority of fans the Steelers have got the match night experience pretty much spot on. For families it’s spot on, plenty for the kids to see and do along with a friendly atmosphere. My point here is the on ice product doesn’t really matter as long as we’re not bottom of the league. It’s the match night experience that keeps the fans returning in their numbers.

For the misery’s like me, dancing on cameras, 1,000 db PA systems and holding babies up don’t add to the match night experience, as I want to watch the ‘on ice’ entertainment, which under Fox at times can be as poor as anything Paul Thompson served up.

Fortunately for Tony he’s quite happy to see the back of fans like me. So I will continue to just watch the odd stream. The Steelers Management don’t want any type of criticism regarding the on ice product is my opinion.

As for Belfast they remind of Steelers teams of old with all the DNA and success those teams had. I can see another grand slam for Belfast this season.

They also had a trophyless season straight after their grand slam season like we did last season. They won the double the next. I can’t see us winning anything.

The two positives I found in last nights game were the powerplays in the 1st period. On both they were active, moving the puck and shooting rather than the usual Chuckle Brothers style. I know we didn't score on thrm
Also, Greenfield again. Without him it could have been 10, with some of the saves he made again. We've ridden him, Balmass and Down all season.
Although they weren't signed as these, we have too many 2nd and 3rd line forwards in the team to challenge for the League.

This is true,,, for a big proportion of the fanbase the hockey game is more about the match night experience ie family time together, kids meeting players , music etc etc and the actual result would be more the second aspect. And if this is what is keeping the numbers coming in then the owner will be happy as its keeping the business making a profit. Unfortunately for the gameplay hockey fans thats bad news as its not a result based business as say football and as so changes are less likely to come about,,,,,

You get the feeling that if there was no match but still a puck throw and a 50/50 draw , people would still come !
