Things are starting to unravel quite badly. It's going to be a tough sell for Tony Smith over the coming months.

Mr Fox our team has been convincingly beaten by the 6th placed team. What is wrong? Well we know about faceoffs. The passing is often poor. Tonight we didn’t really compete. The PK is excellent. For the first time I felt the players just didn’t really go for it. There is something wrong in our setup. This was really poor. It just didn’t feel like a team.

I never imagined I would be quoting the awful Murphy, but another thing he said tonight I thought summed up the situation perfectly. Clan were in our zone and shot directly at Greenfield's chest. Of course he caught it perfectly. Then Murphy said something like That’s OK, it’s a faceoff Clan are winning 60% of them. Even Murphy can see it !

To be beaten by a team in their lowly position with a currently average back up is very, very poor.
I think Foxes position as coach should now be teetering on the brink for next year. Tony should be thinking hard now about what he wants going forward.

Panthers did the same in the 3rd. Fired the puck at Greenfield to try and get the faceoff, knowing they'd probably get a clean faceoff win in our zone.

Teams are now actively targeting an obvious weakness in our team and our coach seems unable to stop it.
