What is the criteria for rule 2.2 of the import rule exception circumstances?

Surley having to dismiss Pu was no way within our control and a player just up and leaving without notice is at least grounds to consider an extra allowed import player...isn't it?

Game On

Akward position for foxy , in this league cant afford any players coming in as replacement that take several weeks to get up to speed, any points lost now then your relying on other teams losing points, so as a coach these decisions are where you earn your money or lose respect,,,,,,

One of the things that didn't help Gentile is the fact Fox was swapping lines every 2 seconds, he started the season on fire but started to lose his way.

Reading the press release, it wasn't by Mutual Consent, he just upped & left, which I found pretty distasteful, he clearly didn't want to be here if he was willing to do that.

If we can fund a replacement in the Golod mode, it's a win win for Steelers

Yea! very much a broken season so far! I never thought Gentile was a EIHL player? he was too slight and far too easily knocked off possession and to be fair he was the one to drop out whenever we had a full roster.
It doesn't look good for the weekend? unless we can use 1/2 of the Steeldog players, we are going to be pretty short come Dundee on Sunday!
I think it looks like we will drop down the standings, lets hope we pull something big out of the weekend and the cup semi final in Feb.
I imagine it’ll be a fairly unusual site around the league for us to be lining up with a short line for the anthems etc!

With Tansey up front we should be able to comfortably run 3 forward lines at least - be like the old days! lol

I wonder whether this will help or hinder getting the best out of the team, in that it seems the “rotation”/healthy scratch system has been an attempt at gee-ing players up, I’d opined earlier in the season I worried that wasn’t going to get the best out of this group morale wise. I wonder if stability could help a little now. Definitely feel Vally missing is a HUGE hole in the dressing morale factor - where’s the crazy characters that give everyone a lift this year?

That leaves 15 imports: and looking at them, they would not be a great squad, that gave me hope....
and a bang average set of brits, Dowd being the exception! :peek:

Forwards
Ryan Tait
Mitchell Heard
Stephen Harper
Sam Tremblay
Evan Jasper
Mikko Juusola
Mitchell Balmas

Sin Bin
Nick Seitz
Logan Neilson
Derek Gentile
Cliff Pu

Defenders
Joona Huttula
Kevin Tansey
Jordon Southorn
Jack Dougherty
Dominic Cormier
Brien Diffley

Netminders
Matt Greenfield
Eamon McAdam
And here's who'd I'd have back next season from our current imports:

Ryan Tait
Mitchell Heard
Sam Tremblay
Mitchell Balmas
Kevin Tansey (only as a defender).
Dominic Cormier
Matt Greenfield
Eamon McAdam
Diffley too? Feel he’s had a good season thus far?

Cheers

Not for me. Think we can improve on him. I don’t think he’s had a good a season as last season either.

Really hope we can find an excellent replacement for Gentile, but for some reason, I don’t think we will. Really hope I’m wrong.

Trembley has stated he is retiring as soon as his Phd at Loughbrough is completed, as he's part funded by Warrior, who have a job held for him. I believe he is in his final year of study, with a lighter workload, allowing him to play fulltime with us.

Diffley has some of the best active stick work since Gord Baldwin, his positional sense is outstanding most of the time, he'd be 100% on my retain list.
Huttala, could go anytime for me.
Keep Kelly, due to his rapid development this year.
Evan Jasper as the 3rd line relentless grnder that he shows he is / 4th line if needed.

Of the ones I was looking forwards to seeing, Pu, Harper and Gentile, none lived up to, or are living up to the expectations. I think this is the poorest Fox squad and reminds me of the 18/19 team of McGrath, Pitt, Owens etc. poor to watch and with no "bite"
Without Dowd having an Indian Summer of a season, we'd be utterly dire in many games.
We appear to be able to play for 20, or 40, but never a full 60mins.

Now released by the Atlanta Gladiators without playing a game, what could that be all about?

They probably didn't realise that he walked out without any discussion and didn't want a player with that type of attitude. If so, it serves him right.
