You only get the funding if you arrange to play this season, as it's purpose is to cover the lost income from not operating normally under the current conditions.

Has anyone heard if the funding a a grant, a loan or a mix of the two?

Other sports got it as a full grant, and from Neil Black's update earlier this week, the EIHL are looking for it on the full grant basis as well. If that happens, then I can see a 5/6 team part season happening in January.
