GAME THREAD: Steelers v Flames: CUP: Sat 13th Sep.
Moderator: Mods
While time generally flies by, to me, it seems a long time since the end of last season.
Looking forward to watching the stream for this one with hopefully Mr Shudra’s (senior) dulcet tones providing some colour.
Expectations are high for me with a trophyless season last season and there are no excuses in regards to extra competitions like the CHL to get in the way.
Let’s start with a statement win. Doubt Guildford will be challenging for many trophies this season.
7-2 Steelers.
With the Cardiff game the day after, I wonder if Fox will split goalie duties?

The proper action finally commences.
We can't really afford to drop points, because the change in rules appear to make life even easier for Belfast and tougher for the teams in our group.
If everybody is fit, I wonder who sits this one out. According to my friends new scoring system, it should be Tansey based on the pre-season, although I can't see that happening.

Looking forward to being back in the arena first and foremost.
I'm guessing that the scratch will depend if anyone has any knocks etc that could benefit from a weekend off. If all healthy I wouldn't be surprised to see different players scratched in each of the 2 games.
Guildford not had the greatest preseason but can't always read too much in to it. Need to get off to a good start so hoping for a comfortable win.
I'll go 4-1 Steelers.

I'm looking forward to this one. Seems a year since the last game (it's was a long hot summer).
Has anyone who ordered a plastic season ticket got them in the post yet? I couldn't make the shirt launch last week to pick mine up from the arena.

Guildford have had a poor pre-season, but they do have some very dangerous players like Watson, Alvaro and Ully etc.
They may have lost 3 - 2 to Coventry, but they out shot them 52 to 16 in Coventry.
This will be a tough game, but we really need to get off to a winning start if we want to qualify.
Interested to see if Fox sticks with the same lines and who sits out.
