Fairly low points total last season in ICEHL, but also joint top on his team for +/-.
This suggests to me he knows how to play a good solid defensive game.
In his interview he mentions - 'I love killing penalties and I’m the guy you send over the boards in the last two minutes of a game to see it out, that’s my gig.'
That's two big ticks for me.

Defensive defencemen are far too overlooked and underappreciated in this league. Too many obsessed with how many goals and assists are put up. I like how Jack himself and Foxy talk about his game.Doom wrote: ↑Mon Jul 21, 2025 10:01 amFairly low points total last season in ICEHL, but also joint top on his team for +/-.

Ciampini has announced his retirement, which I think was expected, but definitely worth noting.
Quality player, seems to also be an absolute high quality human being. Might not have scored the most points but he has been one of the most complete players I've seen for a few years. Great in all 3 zones, always paid attention to small details that make big differences, and would make small plays that created time and space that 3 passes later ended in a goal.
Had to battle a bit last year, and got asked to play a role that limited his scoring output, but just got on with it and worked his bag off.
Proper Steelers, thanks Champ.

A very steady reliable player with a good degree of hockey intelligence.
Really pleased that a player with such a good CV got to taste silverware with us.
I think it probably is the right time to call it a day, because his legs are clearly starting to go, but it will be interesting to see if he stays in hockey.
A potential Steelers coach one day?
All the best to him in the future.

I thought there was meant to be a signing last week or did I mis-read it?
Best of luck to Ciampini, there's been nothing but pure love for the guy who gave his all in the years he was wearing Orange.
All the very best to him & his future career, he'll be a big loss for Steelers.

No just Simms terrible attitude to social media strategy. They said signing shortly and it's now been a week. Apparently waiting for paperwork to be confirmed for visa etc before announcing but didn't say that, just a signing shortlyBontSteeler wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 11:19 amI thought there was meant to be a signing last week or did I mis-read it?

Oh, and the daft thing is, is that Simms effectively confirmed it's Harper who's signed by replying to a tweet about it which mentioned him (Harper) by name.
I'm assuming 2 way back up likely to be Warburton
