I'm a little bit in shock to be honest, really thought Corms was going to Europe. If we manage to tie down Balmas and Greenfield then I'll be even more impressed, and shows what a great environment we've built for players here.

Also suggests that players believe in Fox as a coach - maybe something a few of our fans might want to think about when they immediately look to blame him after any loss.

Happy with both signings, Cormier was in my top three to sign with Juusola and Greener. I think this will be a big year for Shudra.

FWIW I had the chance for a brief chat with Matt G when I won his game worn helmet in a raffle last season. He said he was enjoying his time at the Steelers and Sheffield was "like a home from home" for he and his wife. Given that he's from Florida I assume he wasn't talking about the weather!

So it sounds like the Steelers org have got it right when it comes to looking after the players.

Welcome to Sheffield Ryan Tait, top end signing coming in from Guildford for me, I've always been impressed when I've seen him play.

Top pick up by Foxy & the Steelers.

I think this one is a bit of a wait and see. His points and goals have dropped every year. Quick and skilled, but a bit of concern on points. If he's 2nd line, then probably ok, especially if given players to work with.

Think it depends on who else is back and what new players come in

Interesting he says he knows a couple of players who'll be there next year really well. Could only find a link to Diffley of current Steelers, having played together in France for a season. A few others though who have graced the league previously, including Conway and Owre (who was also on the same team in France).

Might be nothing, but would suggest someone else who he's played with is signing, and likely Diff re-signs

For me this is a safe signing rather than a game changer.

He knows the league and at 28 he should still be around his peak. Fox likes players with speed and he certainly has that in abundance.

His numbers have certainly declined a little, but is that due to how he's been used and his line mates?

I see him as a 2nd or 3rd line player, but with the right line mates I think he could do some damage.

I certainly don't see this as a gamble like Janatuinen and a few others we've had the last couple of seasons.

It's unusual to see Fox recruit from our league, so quite clearly he likes what he's seen.

Welcome to Sheffield Ryan.....Our previous Tait's did OK.

Regards

I rate Tait as a player a lot, but the goal drop off is a concern. If he's middle 6 right winger (likely second line), seems a good signing. Definitely an exciting, entertaining player to watch.
