Storm score on a rebound but Greenfield's helmet had come off on the original shot. Under review.. Given, unbelievable

Steelers 0-1 Storm
Interesting one that, cos there’s no way Greener is thinking about the puck when his helmet falls off.

On the other hand it wasn’t knocked off by Storm so no interference.

What’s the rule on that? I think it’s harsh on Greener but…

Can someone explain to me why the play wasn't whistled dead the instant his helmet hit the ice and then the goal disallowed? As it clearly was shot into the net when Green was trying to grab back his helmet?

The NHL rule says this " If the goalie loses his helmet and the opponents have an immediate scoring chance, the play is whistled dead for the goaltender’s safety."

IIHF rule reads differently. The way I read it and if that’s the rule we follow, it was correct to allow the goal.

Fearnley just read the rule out and basically it’s a good goal as per the rule book.
