Positives - PP firing with much better zone entries being a big part of this. Watling looking like last season again. Cormier and Huttula pairing looks great. 1st period looked like we'd stepped up to CHL level again with Cardiff having zero answer for it.
Negatives - refs. Just really poor game management, and then the controversial 3rd goal. You can't call the trip on Sauce and not call Donaghy for the cross check. Even if you deem that to be after the 'goal' , it should have restarted with Steelers on a PP as the goal cancels the delayed penalty on Sauce, and then Donaghy cross checks him.
All to play for but I'll happily take being up 2 after the first leg

It’s time the stripeys were told they ARE NOT GOD. They can make or break a game and as such more funds need to be put into their training. I don’t like Conway but I have to agree with what he said about the officiating in the EIHL.
So I’ve carefully watched the highlights again and the only whistle I hear is when the Devils score. Perhaps the highlights don’t pick it up?
Both Fearnley & Shudra on commentary say they didn’t hear one either?
But if everyone else on here say there was one then that’s good enough for me

Sets up a hopefully feisty affair back in Cardiff.
