Greener finally beaten. As far as I could see the puck went hard against the plexiglass behind the goal and took a weird bounce, dislodging the plexiglass it came back to clan player and across to another with an open goal. Nothing Greener could do. But the pattern continued. Clan having most of the play. All to play for in the third.

I guess a classic road game. Penalise a set of errors with excellent individual play and then defend Greenfield who is better than ever tonight. Outshot 3 to 2 but Greenfield saved all but one. Amazing performance. Keep it up tomorrow. Easier said than done !

I didn't see the game, but the stats seem to suggest Glasgow had the better of things but came up against a hot Greenfield.....I'll take that.

+2 were Sauce, Diffley, Vally and Dowd.

-1 for Watling.

We were 43% on faceoffs, which isn't great, but I'd always expect us to be a bit lower defending a lead.

Dowd was our best on faceoffs winning 10 of 18, Watling struggled with 4 of 14.

Great to get the win, but I suspect we'll need to be better in Belfast tonight.

Regards

Greenfield stole us one a bit there. 2nd period was not good, defensive lapses all over. We were clinical enough in the first, but probably on balance of play, Glasgow probably edged it. Managed to shut the game down much more effectively in the 3rd, mainly keeping chances to the outside.

Golod's goal was another beauty, lovely touch to quickly bring the puck off the boards to tuck in the wraparound.

Got to be better against Belfast. Definitely missed Leavens, but also thought we missed having Ciampini at centre. His production has not been as good, but using him at centre allows his other attributes to shine - high IQ, great in his own end, and gets to dictate play more.

Greener is the lynchpin of this team, definitely would not still be in the running if he was not back on form. Need the whole team to get back on form with him,, getting there but there is still more to come as we have seen early season. Hopefully we have been through our lean spell [ injuries , confidence etc ] and now is the time to put foot down and really push on as we get more to the business half of season especially as we are still in the race
