Cannot of asked for any more from the lads tonight, [ well except for 10 goals ], solid 60min performance, great confidence booster, 2 goalies with clean slates, good on greener giving curtis time. hat trick and plenty of goals, did expect more from guildford. Hopefully now lads are back on track again and i hope we have not lost too many points on cardiff to claw back

Whilst Guildford were short benched, we were absolutely on it from puck drop. Scored on first shot of each period.
The difference a bit of rest, and getting Greenfield and Saucerman fit (massive by the way - Sauce has been probably our best overall D all year when playing) has made really shows. Fox also mentioned Diff and Tansey both been playing through injury, so effectively we've probably had 2 or 3 fit D men over the past few weeks. No wonder we've struggled!
Diffley was superb last night, looked like he did last year

I was out for a Christmas meal yesterday, so didn't get to see the game, but was following the score on the train home.
Looking at the stats it looks like one of those games where everything went for us.
Delighted to see Whis get his hatrick, he wanted to move up the lines, now he's giving Fox plenty of food for thought.
I was also pleased to see Huttula finish top of the +/- last night, because to date I don't think we've seen the best of him.
I feel a bit for Huhtamaa, because he came in with little game time under his belt and it showed. It makes a huge difference to us having Greenfield back. To put it in to context, if we give up 30 shots with Greenfield in goal we concede 2 on average (currently 93%). If we give up 30 shots with Huhtamaa in goal, we concede 5 (currently 83%).
That's the difference between winning and losing those games against Nottingham, Dundee and Fife.
When Vainio is back I wonder what Fox will do, because we'll have 7 import d. If a forward is missing who of the 7 is most likely to be pushed up as a forward?
Regards

Probably Cormier or possibly Tansey. Given how well the brits are playing though, it might be a case of dress 2 import goalies instead and allow Whis to remain in top 9 with DowdDoom wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 1:17 pmI was out for a Christmas meal yesterday, so didn't get to see the game, but was following the score on the train home.

Depending on the fitness of certain players someone could get released, harsh maybe but that's professional sport. I've been very impressed with the return to form of Leavens, he had a spell where he seemed to drift, not having the impact he's capable of, it's quite possible of course he's been carrying injuries and playing through them but in the last couple of games he's been a yard quicker and causing chaos in the opposition D even if he's not been lighting up the scoreboard himself.
