Looks like it could be a hangover from the CHL.

How many of the team re-signed last year just for the CHL? How many are truly motivated the retain the grand-slam?

I feel like it could take a short while to refocus, hopefully it happens sooner rather than later

Lots of people were up for playing the CHL but some of us realised that it puts too much strain on teams of our size and budget. Add to that the history of British teams who have entered and had their season affected and it looks like we traded the CHL for another tilt at the treble.
Some of our players tonight were unrecognisable from how they were playing just a few weeks ago, but of course Greener is truly a game winning goalie and these are very hard to replace. Clubs that have them want to keep them , simples.
As for the fighting in the crowd , more bad publicity for the game. I bet the Star and Look North report that!

Don’t think it’s necessarily a case of the netminder taking all the flak. As a unit we’ve been poor in all areas of the ice and generally look lazy which isnt something I’d expect at this stage. That said it’s hard to overlook their second goal today. Big moment in the game and they were gifted a goal. You don’t win games with 80-85% goaltending.

Anyone know what the fracas in 218 was about?

Very true that the Goalie didn't lose us that game.. the fact we couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo is the reason we lost and the woeful play. we was second to almost every puck and both the forecheck and backcheck were dismal, well let's be honest the backcheck was almost non existent..
Remember when we used to see it every game... Remember only a few short week ago turn over top draw european opposition with the hockey version of a high press when the forecheck often wouldn't even let them out their own zone!!
the team to me looks tired and banged up, but i dont believe we are a bad team in the space of two weeks, we somehow need rested bodies and fitness back and a keeper that will give us a chance to win every game. a full fit Greenfield keeps us in that game tonight and that in turn may provide the spark or motivation to push on from that 1st period.. we have had some horrendous bad luck with injuries and the defence especially are hurting big time.. and the new bodies we have managed to find in defence have not really helped (Vainio & Huhtamaa) any news on Saucerman?

Full on scrap by the looks of it by a couple of 2 pint commandos.

We seem to be attracting more of these knuckle draggers every season.

Woman got dragged down the steps by her hair apparently.

From people who were directly involved, it appears we had a group of newbies who after drinking too much took exception to being shouted at for moving while the game was underway and decided to act like annoying children for the rest of the game until eventually somebody stepped in to sort it out and then a bit of a fight started and unfortunately a steelers fan fell down the stairs. What I don't understand is how this group of likely lads didn't have a couple of stewards sat with them if this behaviour has been happening from during the 1st period.

First post.

Where did we go wrong? Panthers punished us for poor back-checking and for what can only be described as a lack of defensive acumen.

The first goal should have raised alarm bells to Fox that they’ll brake on the counter and they did it multiple times throughout the game.

As for the keeper, I felt he was at fault for the second and fourth goals (poor distribution led to the puck being given away) - definitely not EIHL level. When he signed earlier in the week, the assumption would have been this would be a short-term signing given his lack of experience at senior level.

Could they just not try and bring in a keeper not signed for the 24/25 season?

Right now I feel this is more important than tonight’s performance. We need action form the steelers over this and if 2 lads have been fighting they need banning from games. We cannot let this sort of behaviour become commonplace as it is in football.

When I went to the Berlin CHL game I sat in 217, I usually sit on the first tier and there were a lot of people that were up and down during live play with a few disgruntled comments aimed at the people who clearly didn’t understand that you should wait for a break in play, met with aggressive comments from the 2 pint commandos.

There were zero stewards to be seen…….

Perhaps a reminder over the 1,000 decibel tannoy to explain to people to wait for a break in play would be helpful here?
