Breaking News: Patrick Watling re-signs for Sheffield Steelers - Confirmed
GAME THREAD: Steelers v Panthers: Sat 30th
Moderator: Mods
A huge chance for the Panthers to record a win and break our 6,000 game winning streak
We sound like we’re low on confidence and are feeling a little bit sorry for ourselves.
Yes, we will be completely knackered, beaten up and a little short on bodies which is completely understandable with the schedule we’ve had and the brilliant but unfortunately gruelling CHL games.
However, this is the time where the winning Steelers teams of old stood tall. That’s up to Fox and the team leaders to get everyone motivated. I’ve already said in another thread, we’ve only managed to win one trophy after our last two grand slams in the following season. We need to improve if we want to equal or beat that success for this season.
This is still going to be a tough game for our new netminder. It did sound like he improved as the game went on in Cardiff, so let’s hope that continues for this game.
Good news is Panthers aren’t that good in general, which their 7th place in the league would suggest, so we should still have enough to continue the long winning streak against them.
5-3 Steelers.

I wouldn't predict this one if I were Mystic Meg ( and I'm not ) !
We all know about our issues but the crowd is always up for it and Panthers can be like the English weather, great one moment awful the next. They do have.speedy forwards which concerns me with our present defence but banged up or not we have plenty of excellent players at this level in our team.
Yes the goaltending is crucial but if we can restrict their forwards and shots maybe not so much so. The new goalie let a few in at Cardiff but he did make some pretty good saves as well in a first period of complete bombardment. I know the crowd will get behind him so game on !

As we are at moment, injuries etc, any other team we were playing then i would say maybe a loss but we seem to have a mentality to beat panthers no matter what. Their fans keep saying this could be the one to beat us but then they usually go home saying same old story after a loss, hopefully that continues
