A deserved win for the boys.

A solid performace ensuring the W.

Play like that 99% of the time and we’ll win 99% of our games

Enjoy the Sunday off lads.

For me that was comfortably our best domestic performance of the season so far.

We dominated Cardiff throughout and it was quite bewildering how it became a 1 goal game in the 3rd.

I thought we were outstanding in all areas of the game, even our powerplay looked very good. If that's the best Cardiff have to offer, I think Belfast are our biggest threat.

Simpson was a beast tonight and I'm shocked to see he was only 50/50 on faceoffs, because it felt like he won all the major ones.

Guimond continues to impress. My mate came out with a few stats and apparently we haven't conceded yet with Guimond and Saucerman as a pairing.

No complaints from me tonight.....outstanding Sheffield.

Regards

Edited: I thought we eased off a bit at 3-0 and gave them a chance but (delete Martin) Sanford's power play goal couldn’t have been more in the top corner - a great shot. After that we dominated again.

Overall we we just too good for them.

I thought Devils were a good better than some reports on here. However the statistics show us massively in charge. Despite all our possession and shots it was a close call in the end. Our goals to shots ration was quite low, but I liked the shoot on sight attitude. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Coventry continue to surprise though I still maintain their victory over us was down to absurd refereeing. The one-sided 5 major call turned the game. It’s beginning to look as if it will be an interesting season. Well played Steelers.

Game On

Excellent win,,,always hard to keep momentum going when 3 up,,,, first 2 periods more like our old selves. We have now beaten our 2 main rivals on home ice,,,,,won games when not playing well and doing better than expected in chl,,,,,,,so i am more than happy where we are at moment

Best domestic performance I've seen this year so far. Absolutely dominated them apart from first 5 minutes of 3rd where we let them in a bit with a couple of penalties.

Good performances all over the ice, hard to pick standouts.

Cardiff - Bowns kept it respectable. Fournier is still class, but the standard of the league has improved so doesn't quite look as much of a standout. Really like MacWilliam. But their problems last night were what I thought they would be at the start of the year - depth. Martin is not the player he was 4/5 years ago, Richardson and Mosey the same. Batch is not quite good enough for the role/amount of minutes he's being asked to play. Not enough depth in the forwards and definitely put big stock in to Shinkaruk being the focal point. Duke and Macdonald are good players but neither seemed to be big play drivers watching last night.

If they had signed that team 4 years ago, I think they'd be a real force, but just not enough when stacking up against us and Belfast

With you on Macwilliam, fournier and especially Bowns were very good with Bowns giving them a fighting chance. Thought their big name/reputation forwards were quite average last night and they do have a lack of depth.

I watched the game on the stream and this provides replays of incidents which helps with penalties and goal accounts et. I have always said that there was an element of diving drifting into the game over the last few years and this is undoubtedly down to the antics of footballers! The replays clearly show Cardiff players embellishing contact to attract penalties!
Glad we won the game convincingly because I would hate this aspect of the game to determine the outcome, lets hope it doesn't increase and players and coaches keep to the ethics of the sport.
