Congrats to Dowdy.......we've not retired a shirt for a long time, but for me he would be deserving.

Positive being we won and got 2 points in the bag whilst being short on key players and not playing great. But we have to quickly start getting it together domestically otherwise results will start going against us.. i see cardiff /coventry are quietly going about their business and putting points down
I’ve no interest in watching games against Glasgow, but an expected win, especially after Glasgow played both on Wednesday and last night.
Congratulations to Dowd and I echo the shirt retirement suggestion, along with Jono when he finally stops playing of course
Coventry are still at 100% beating both us and the Giant$. They are the early surprise of the season so far by the looks of things.
We’ll take the 2 points and move on.

Strange to see earlier comments about a dull game. In the arena the one thing it wasn’t was dull. It was on the edge for two periods. Lots of attacking play by both sides. Clan were allowed to foul Greener at least twice so not many points to the stripeys but not as serious as the miss of 5+game on Coventry last week. Coventry doing well on the points board, but remember against us they were shut out 5 on 5. They only scored when a grossly one side major was awarded. Of course it should have been awarded but so should the terrible offence against us. So I think Blaze flatter to deceive a little so far. Devils looking the real competition for us so far.
I was just having a look at the game sheet and it was certainly not the best night for Tansey, who was on the ice for all 3 Glasgow goals.
Diffley had a good night though, topping our +/- with +3.
It's still early doors, but of the new guys the only one I'd currently say is better than the player he's replaced would be Guimond. I had Guimond down as Jones replacement, but despite my concerns when we signed him I think he's been very good to date.
Looking at his previous seasons he usually puts up decent points, but it looks like he's taking one for the team and adopting a bit of the Nevalainen role by playing more defensively.
Overall he currently tops our +/- over both competitions....long may it continue.

It was another frankly overall disappointing domestic competition showing from us.
Last year we were rolling four settled lines all bringing something to the table. So far this year not one forward line is playing with any cohesiveness and continued threat. Don't get me started on the d zone play.
Are we missing the assured, skilled composure of Nicholls?
We need to improve and improve fast because we will start dropping points otherwise.

And just to add, further to Dooms comment, Guimond has been excellent. Looked a bit shaky at first but settled in really well.

I thought for much of the game it was being played by two mediocre-looking teams with a lot of poor positioning and so many passes going astray. Obviously we had a much better third and hopefully we have got the monkey off our backs with the long overdue power play goal. Congratulations to Dowdy. That goal seems to have been a while coming so maybe a monkey off his back too.
