Other than maybe Matheson it’s hard to think who else who could displace one of those four though.
King v Desbiens is a tricky one. I think if King had stayed on for another season or two he would certainly be in there. Also, Desbiens played a big part in the 2016 league and 2017 play off winning teams, whereas we didn’t win anything when King was here.

I would take King over Desbiens every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.Jimmy o wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:17 pmOther than maybe Matheson it’s hard to think who else who could displace one of those four though.

Not for me, Desbiens much better all round and offers that leadership too.Robert Mansell wrote:I would take King over Desbiens every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.Jimmy o wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:17 pmOther than maybe Matheson it’s hard to think who else who could displace one of those four though.

I loved Desbiens, loved him... but I would take Colt king every time.... Colt had everything Desi had and more to spare and he also had the leadership qualities, most in that team would have followed Colt into any battle and often did... A much much much better player than he often got credit...SteelerBlade wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 4:38 pmNot for me, Desbiens much better all round and offers that leadership too.Robert Mansell wrote:I would take King over Desbiens every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.Jimmy o wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:17 pmOther than maybe Matheson it’s hard to think who else who could displace one of those four though.

I just think there's a reason Desbiens made the NHL and King couldn't crack the AHL.Jayboy wrote:I loved Desbiens, loved him... but I would take Colt king every time.... Jay is right.
King did everything desbiens did and more.
Just because desbiens played in the nhl doesnt automatically make him a better suited player to the eihl.
Delta Rovere cracked the NHL he was one of the worst players I have ever seen..
Think the play off goal rose tints a few people about him. Damn good player but people forget how good king was and also .8 points a game to desbiens .5
That to me is what tips king over desbiens.
King could play on first line easy. Desbiens not so much.
Desbiens played a lot of PK and King was on PP.

Much much more to it, in fact you couldn't get more wrong, he was passionate about the team and fairness to his team mates... And a great deal of his team mates agreed, any perceived issue came about when he stood up for some of them, especially during the time when the team were rotating playing personal and who sat out and why..

I would argue that we haven't had an import d man as good and consistent as the above.SteelerBlade wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 2:06 pmProbably a bit to do with the "nostalgia factor"Robert Mansell wrote:No import d men signed in the last 10 years.paul johnston wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 1:34 pmLehmann.
