Still nothing online today.
In the absence of an explanation rumours will flourish. Is this an experiment to drive up sales of the physical copy, is this because they don't have permission to put the articles online because it's the same copy as the YP, maybe it's because they are too skint to employ someone to put it online, are they going out of business, have they made a strategic decision to reduce the coverage because it didn't get enough views ( as the Scunthorpe Telegraph did with local cricket coverage ), wild guesses on my part but the absence of an explanation demonstrates a lack of respect towards their readership.

maybe if you subscribe you get more online content !,,, in the star frequent asked question section it says non subscribers will have limited access to content, suppose its trying to get more people to pay and subscribe. As i dont subscribe myself then i cant say how much more content is available if you do subscribe. And cant say if the printed version is the same as the online subscription version.

It usually shows the start of the story and then asks you to sign in to read the rest of the "premium" content, I'm getting to a stage where I actually don't want to read anything by that man anymore, having read the YP articles, and also the report in this mornings Belfast Telegraph it highlights what we have been missing as far as decent writing is involved.greeny wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:13 pmmaybe if you subscribe you get more online content !,,, in the star frequent asked question section it says non subscribers will have limited access to content, suppose its trying to get more people to pay and subscribe. What does concern me is the reduction in exposure for the Steelers and the absolute arrogance they display towards their readers by not making any kind of statement. The lights seem to be going out in the office, perhaps it's time for them to close the doors permanently.

My problem with interviews is the interviewer needs to keep his interviewee onside . Therefore you get leading questions that really can only be answered with a “Yes “, or more often “ For sure “.
Questions such as , “Do you think it will be a tough game in Braehead ?”
or , “ Will our new player help give us more energy ? “
The result is banality. With a well written article every issue ,good or bad , can be discussed and tactics can be applauded or questioned.

Still no reports from games. It seems their dummy has been spat out so far it's gone into orbit. Given they have now placed almost all of their sports stories behind a paywall it's reasonable to assume they are struggling for cash. Maybe people have had enough ?

So there's been a couple of "articles" posted recently by the Steelers media claiming to be from The Star, none of them have been visible on their web page, any Star subscribers on here can advise if they are hidden behind the paywall or in the paper copy ?

Somewhat surprised to see that even under the current strange circumstances there has been no mention on the Star website on the 1st anniversary of the death of Adam Johnson, although given the inexcusable actions of a certain reporter that evening perhaps they don't want that back in the limelight, it would have been the perfect opportunity for an apology in an effort to repair the issues between the club and the newspaper. Having made a now rare visit to their site I find a "story" that is actually a straight lift from an interview given in Germany by Liam Kirk but they chose "Horrors of visiting a Nazi death camp" as the headline, a quick glance shows the last three stories about the Steelers all involve death, what the chuffin' hell is going on in that office ????.
So.. Has the Star quit on actual sports coverage of the Steelers, or have they been sacked by Steelers ?
