I didn't make any proposal !. However I am convinced that none of the EIHL webcasts can be considered good value for money, especially from the likes of Manchester which seems to be filmed on a potato, and most are using "fans" rather than decent commentators/summarisers. When viewed in context with almost any other PPV sport EIHL Ice Hockey is over priced, more so if you take a monthly view. I accept the Steelers have the best offering of any UK club with the best commentary team out there but at a couple of quid less than a match night ticket I still believe it is over pricedBryan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 8:48 pmMark, I am sorry but I take a little exception to your proposal. It is not my fault that all the EIHL clubs charge £15 or £16 . The idea that you we should foresake watching and following our beloved team in the ridiculous hope that this would bring the price down doesn’t deserve serious consideration.
You have no grasp of market economics if you think that fewer people watching would not have an effect on price, the principle of demand v pricing is well established as is the effect of no competition in a market. Customers can move market prices so it is not ridiculous to suggest that fewer viewers cannot bring prices down. Neither am I suggesting that you should neither watch nor follow the team, I manage to see all the highlights and follow the live scores without paying over the odds for a youtube stream.
It is instructive that the pricing for these CHL games, which are of a higher standard than EIHL work out around a fiver per game, that for me is a realistic price and shows it can be done.
