It took to last Wednesday to finally announce the full roster. Usually we have photos of players arriving at the arena, the induction day, initial fitness tests etc.
Supposedly we are putting out a team on Saturday in Manchester but at present the club have given no indication if all have arrived safely!
Also no foxy interview released about the last 5 guys that were announced last week. Was looking forward to hearing what he had to say about them. Peter Spencer said would be released day after the players were announced but still nothing.

I wouldn't be shocked if we get a YouTube podcast with JJ, Simms and Pete later in the week going over the full roster, training camp etcMorpheous wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 1:59 pmDimTim wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 9:10 amVery disappointed that both Steelers website, Facebook & Twitter have not given any indication that the team have arrived fit & well.

Got to be illness or similar and short on BTS staff as reason for less coverage - normally all over this
I've just realised GB have games on Friday and Sunday against Cardiff and Belfast respectively.
Does this mean we'll be missing our Brits for the pre-season games?
It would certainly make line combinations interesting.

Why not? We'd hammer footballers for choosing club over country, so why should our GB players be any different?BontSteeler wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 12:22 amJust my opinion but absolutely ridiculous situation & decision imo.
Our players shouldn't be available.
Poor scheduling/timing? Sure - but this is a problem generally with too many separate organisations involved.
It's olympic qualifiers that happen once every 4 years. If GB qualify it could be huge for hockey since we then get in to the realms of accessing government funding to help develop the sport.
As it happens it's occurred in the year we have managed to qualify for a European competition. It's unfortunate but is what it is.
It's frustrating ahead of the CHL, but it's certainly much worse in Cricket and Rugby Union where teams can lose their top players for the majority of the season.
I guess we'll make up the numbers by playing all our imports and calling up 2 from the Dogs.
