Gabe Bast confirmed by Belfast. Still can't work out why he was essentially playing mens league in Canada last year rather than pro - assume he was doing family/work outside of hockey stuff, but nothing really mentioned from what I can see. Great player, should be good still, but a year with only a handful of low level games not ideal to be coming in to a new season.
He's the one of the returnees for them that I think is the biggest risk, but he could easily be right back up to previous level in a few weeks. Another big signing for Belfast.
Confirmed signings: ONLY OTHER TEAMS

It's good to see Keefe using his imagination and his wide range of contacts to recruit next seasons team.
Would have been a great re-signing last season, but I'm less sure now after playing fewer games and at a lower level.....I guess time will tell.

Glasgow sign goalie Landon Bow from the Czech league. 2 NHL appearances, 140 AHL and 116 in the Czech league. Looks a good pickup. His Czech league stats are terrible, but he was playing on the worst team in the league by a country mile.

Jackson Whistle confirmed by Belfast. Guessing they'll also sign a strong import, so guessing Whistle still has issues with back to back games. Real shame, as he deserves a proper number 1 job given his play last year

Lots of signings around the league but some big moves in Cardiff - Bowns back, Carruth returns and they've now announced Zach O'Brien who I've hoped would be someone we've targeted - over PPG in the coast and AHL experience. Very good player - Cardiff and Belfast definitely going all out to catch up with our level from last year.
I was about to post something similar Ginger.ginger wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2024 6:35 amLots of signings around the league but some big moves in Cardiff - Bowns back, Carruth returns and they've now announced Zach O'Brien who I've hoped would be someone we've targeted - over PPG in the coast and AHL experience. O'Brien looks a top signing for our league and will undoubtedly be on big money.
Cardiff and Belfast certainly seem to have opened the chequebook and are throwing money at their squads so far.
If we want to be up there again next season, we need to match this quality with any new signings we make.
I do fear a little for the teams further down the league like Fife, because if a bit of an arms race is developing, they could be left behind.

Some big big signings in the league and they will be paying top dollar. Will it mean weaker 3 and 4th lines for them or will budgets be getting blown?
We struck lucky with our budget signings and getting more than possibly expected out of our lower line players last year.
