I think we have to accept that this is beyond the clubs control and they are not at fault. The businessman in Tony Smith must be gutted. Its not just the ticket sales its the 50/50, SOB, programmes and merchandising that will take a massive hit.
Its a high price to pay for being the best supported team in the league.
BUT on the flip side we also have the best webcast in the league with the 2 best commentators. I dislike the seats and the views at Ice Sheffield so we will save the price of the tickets & 4 supporters plus dog will be paying for that instead.

To put some context into why it was a farce.lovedenisvial wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 6:05 pmSorry don't understand the comments about the ticketing for the CC was a farce!" The allocation and information was clearly stated well in advance of the game, dates and costs clearly stated and over 8000 ticket made available for ANYONE to buy them? what more could the club do? Steeler fans even got hold of tickets in the Guildford section!!! so I have no doubt the Flames only managed to occupy 500 at the most.
You are correct about the allocation and information but I personally have never had so much difficulty in purchasing tickets for an event of any kind.
They said that the event was run by the EIHL and that is why season ticket holders could not be given an advanced period to purchase tickets yet they seem to manage that quite well for the playoffs in Nottingham.
Then after eventually purchasing tickets that were not ideal (but at least I managed to get some) to find that others were able to buy tickets in areas that were not available to myself an hour previously, left a question to how this was possible.
Having just read the information below from Steelers website I am disappointed that I am not going to be able to sit with the family as usual.
However I can see that is why they doing sales that way to ensure season ticket holders only buy them. So I guess I will have to sit on my own or stay at home and pay for a webcast!

Important Please Read: Season Ticket Holders Especially.
Tickets for the quarter final of the play offs at Ice Sheffield (scheduled between 12th and 14th April) will go on sale TODAY at 4pm via your Steelers Hub Account
We will send you a link at 4pm for season ticket holders to buy their tickets on the hub, ST holders will have 48 hours to purchase their play off tickets before they go on general sale.
Steelers staff will be available tonight at the Season Ticket Holders evening at the arena should you have any issues.”

I'm not a season ticket holder, so I'll miss out, but that's fair enough because those who have paid their money at the start of the season deserve to be prioritised.
I suspect the issue will be if there's more demand from season ticket holders than seats available, which is a real possibility.
In such circumstances there's not much the club can do, because they've been put in a very uncomfortable position.
If all season ticket holders have received a code to purchase their tickets, I assume the club will be able to track who has and hasn't managed to get a match ticket.
Maybe an idea to offer a discount on the webcast to those who have missed out?
Regards

Got my seat for the playoff 1/4 final.
That was a much better experience than the CC final tickets. Although I did get locked out for a while because it said I already had a ticket and only one per ST was allowed.
I must be a minority because I really like Ice Sheffield games. I used to spend 10-12 hours a week sat in those seats when my son played in the juniors.
Looking forward to it, whoever we get to play.

Lucky enough to get tickets for the 1/4, such a shame it's landed this way. Could've filled the arena once again and made some real noise.
