May need a few favours from elsewhere. Coventry beating Cardiff was as big for us as any win this year. Cardiff look far too good to lose many though.

Ive said this before and i dont mind you quoting me again if I am wrong, but there are some fans being overly negative... there is plenty of hockey left. true we have not won anything yet but to here some speak, we are useless and we are going to throw it all away... True we are not playing has good as we have been, thats is true, but we have 9 points and a game in hand and everyone else would take that...

I agree Jay that some of the supporters probably are a bit overly negative, but I certainly can understand why there is a degree of caution because of what has happened the last two seasons.Jayboy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 1:27 pmIve said this before and i dont mind you quoting me again if I am wrong, but there are some fans being overly negative... there is plenty of hockey left. true we have not won anything yet but to here some speak, we are useless and we are going to throw it all away... From my perspective every time I see a dip in standards I do start to wonder if this is the start of a downward spiral, because it has happened before. I'd be less concerned if we had a relatively straightforward run in, but we don't, we have easily the toughest run in.
Having said that, I do feel a lot more positive about the team this season because it's a bit younger and we do seem to have picked up a few gems.
Without wanting to sound disrespectful to a very good servant of our club, I also think bringing in a quality import to replace Phillips has improved what was already a decent defence (I see Tansey as the replacement for Phillips - Diffley for Piche and Saucerman for Schulze).
To be honest, it's that long since we've won it, I'll be remaining twitchy until it's more or less in the bag.

Regards

Friday 15th March
Belfast 3-1 Guildford
Dundee 7-4 Nottingham
Manchester 3-1 Coventry
The loss on Dundee for the Panthers has now put them 5 points behind Dundee who occupy the last playoff spot with both teams having 8 games left to play.
Meanwhile another win for Manchester sees them leap Guildford into 4th - what a fantastic season they are having under the guidance of Matt Ginn
