Now watched the highlights. Juusola's goal was gorgeous, and Nicholls snipe reminded me of a Leggy bullet top shelf.
Do we play Guildford again after the point by which we could have won the league? Because if so then I think we might see a pretty feisty game with a few scores settled.

Exactly, an excellent time to put a few physical markers down before the start of the playoffs, show that we can handle the physical stuff if needed and still win, because you know for a fact that the physical play will be higher during the playoffs, even though our American/Canadian players have fully bought into the league system over here they just can't help turning it up a notch when the playoffs get going.ginger wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 11:52 amNow watched the highlights. I know people bemoan a perceived lack of physical play but I've actually thought we've been more physical this year than the last few. We have the puck a lot so it's always going to seem less physical because of that, but out of possession I think we're pretty physical, but generally very clean. Tansey especially is so controlled in his hits, only makes it when the opportunity is there and never looks out of control - which is what refs pick up on.mark wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 12:01 pmExactly, an excellent time to put a few physical markers down before the start of the playoffs, show that we can handle the physical stuff if needed and still win, because you know for a fact that the physical play will be higher during the playoffs, even though our American/Canadian players have fully bought into the league system over here they just can't help turning it up a notch when the playoffs get going.ginger wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2024 11:52 amNow watched the highlights. What we don't do is head hunt or get too drawn in to stuff. I'm sure Tansey (and others) have wanted to go after players but that's when the team ethos is kicking in - why make what is a selfish play generally and potentially hurt the team? Stand tall as we did against Guildford, but don't lose heads.
I hope we do play them because I'd love to see Tansey go after Ferguson when there's no negative outcome from losing the game. Or Dowd again seeing as he's already given him a pasting before
