Breaking News: Nick Seitz Joins the Flames - Confirmed
RUMOURS

I was looking at Harper's stats yesterday afternoon and have mixed feelings based on those.
He put up good numbers at NCAA level a few years ago, but didn't manage a break through at AHL or Finnish Elite level, where he played a few games.
This season his numbers in the ECHL are reasonable, but the big concern for me would be his +/-, with him being the worst on his team.
No doubt Fox will be aware of this, so if we do sign this guy I'm sure he'll have looked deep into those numbers to understand them better. I don't think any of us could really question Fox's judgement at this time, he has plenty of credit in the bank.
Hopefully if it is Harper he plays with similar pace to Neumann.
Addition
I've no idea if it's relevant, but I did find this from an article a couple of days ago:
SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS — Suspended F Patrick harper and removed him from the roster.

Depending on the circumstances, I think that could be a bonus, players that have been handed a second chance by a team often feel they have something to prove to themselves as well as everyone else. Also, if the player feels unjustly suspended, it often can light a rocket up them. Lastly, he may have the kind of spark and passion often missing in some players that may have got him in trouble, bringing that grit into the team if Foxy can channel it, it could motivate players around him for the final push to the end of the season.. a lot of ifs and buts, I trust Aaron to see the qualities we need.. looks a decent player to me, if it is him..Doom wrote:

Would be decent cover for Neumann. Can’t be too picky about who’s available at this time of year because the options are short. Harper has played at good levels and would be on a top side.
Looks a similar like-for-like option for Neumann.

I'm pretty sure that the suspension is not disciplinary related, it just means that wherever he is going, he is leaving the league. By placing him on suspension it means that should he return to the ECHL the Stingrays retain his rights and he can't sign for another ECHL team.
If Sheffield is his destination he would appear to be a good pickup.

Can someone explain how you get suspended if its not a disciplinary matter..?lymelyter wrote:I'm pretty sure that the suspension is not disciplinary related, it just means that wherever he is going, he is leaving the league. It's the terminology they use, but the above is correct. Its essentially just a mechanism to retain the league rights to that player. Doesn't mean the player has done anything that would be seen as a disciplinary issueJayboy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 11:01 amCan someone explain how you get suspended if its not a disciplinary matter..?lymelyter wrote:I'm pretty sure that the suspension is not disciplinary related, it just means that wherever he is going, he is leaving the league. EP also shows Josh Wilkins leaving South Carolina. He's their top points scorer this year. Not seen any rumours on him, but would be a strong addition to any team in the league. Wonder if Belfast bound?
I'd definitely take him, he ticks all my boxes, but would guess he's off to a better league than ours.
Are Belfast in the market for another forward? I thought all bases were covered, but I could be wrong.

Could well be off to a higher league for sure. Belfast came to mind given I suspect they will make a real push for the playoffs and generally they've not scored brilliantly this year
