I say it every season and every season I am more or less proven right, start at the back and make sure we have a stud goalie and a defence that knows its job, that collectively knows how to put a forward on his arse, can clear the crease and back check all night long well before any offensive talent...

Championships and Silverware are all won at the back... Greenfield is the perfect guy to build that around,,, :hey:
I'll be stunned if Greenfield is back in Orange next season

Depends how much we want to keep him. Obviously I don’t know how the player feels but he seems to have been happy here and happy to play week in week out. I think it should take a very good offer to draw him away. We’d be foolish to let him go readily.

If a European team comes in a doubles his wages - which I suspect they have the financial clout to do, then he won't be at Steelers next year.

Game On

Interesting to see how it pans out with greenfield, be nice if he did stay , not always about the money. And as has been said we need to build team around solid keeper and d men. This is how it always was in previous years when we were successful. If your mean at the back and dont let much in your own net Then your always in with a chance of winning games

Lots of rumours in Nottingham last weekend about him already signed but they were just that, rumours, possibly drunken rumours to be taken with a huge pinch of salt.

I'd be very surprised to see him as our 1st choice NM next term.

Mason Mitchell departs for Germany 3rd division.

Looked good on paper when we signed him, but a big disappointment - mainly due to being on IR most of the season.

Phew! Very glad he's not re-signing.

I disagree. I feel bad for him, I would have given him another chance.

Daniel Ciampini - 50/50, play him on 2nd line.
Evan Mosey - Signed elsewhere.
Tomas Pitule - NO
Alex Graham - Already signed. Put him on the 3rd line.
Brett Neumann - YES, play him on 2nd line.
Scott Allen - Maybe, needs to get more involved for my liking.
Brandon Whistle - Signed up. Put him on the 3rd line.
Robert Dowd - Signed up. Make him captain. 2nd line with Neumann.
Danny Kristo - NO (at Christmas this would've been a yes).
Marc Olivier Vallerand - NO
Brandon McNally - NO
Calle Ackered - NO, doesn't use his shot enough.
Davey Philips - Signed elsewhere.
Matt Petgrave - NO
Kevin Schulze - NO
Sam Jones - Signed up.
Niklas Nevalainen - YES
Sebastien Piche - Maybe
Mat Greenfield - Signed up.
Hayden Lavigne - NO
Curtis Warburton - YES, on a 2-way
Jordan McLaughlin - YES, on a 2-way.

Gonna need: 1 Import N/M, 3 or 4 D Men, a minimum of 5 forwards - 2 of which to play on first line.

I agree with keeping Ciampini Neumann and maybe Allen on the second line trouble is are they on second line money? Because in my opinion we need 3 players above them 1st line that can produce more than these 3 produced last season a lot more! Hopefully they will be upgrades to Latal, conns, and Kristo Goal production.
