GAME THREAD: Playoff Game 2. Steelers v Storm. Sat 8th April. : 1900 Hrs

Hopefully we'll not have too much of a deficit to come back on from the 1st leg. Storm are poor on the big ice and we're not great at home.
Jono's last home game, so if there was any extra motivation required, then here it is.
Whilst I would like us to progress to the finals, especially for fans that might have already bought tickets, the reality in my world will just be prolonging the agony of losing to Belfast further down the line for another trophyless season.
Some questions in my mind, depending on the result(s):
If we go out here, surely Tony makes a coaching change for next season?
Can anyone remember the last time Steelers had two trophyless seasons in a row?
If we lose, how many times have we not made the playoff final weekend for two seasons in a row?
4-2 Steelers.

Well it's the day after the night before, are we still in with a shout after the first leg. I hope so because our home form and results have been a nightmare.

4-1 Steelers.
After being 4-2 down in Manchester, Steelers will win this 6-5 on aggregate.

Well it can’t be any worse than we’ve got now apart from bringing PT back of course.
I’m afraid I don’t see a successful future from a trophy winning point of view with Fox in charge. His strategy of recruiting aging imports (slightly better this year) isn’t working. Neither is the bland vanilla hockey.
He’s had plenty of time and for me that time is up.

Sorry but I can see us chasing the game on Saturday after a poor performance in Manchester!
Oh I do hope I'm wrong??

Yes 17/18 and 18/19 under Thommos debacle, it’s become acceptable unfortunately and still believe it runs deeper than any manager we choose to appoint. What’s more we still haven’t managed to close the gap between Belfast and Cardiff since back then. Our recent seasons and trophy count in comparison attest to this. Not a lot of difference between Nottingham and us these days only difference being Tony is good at looking as if he’s doing something about it Neil black can’t even be bothered to do that.smbmetal wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 3:36 pmHopefully we'll not have too much of a deficit to come back on from the 1st leg.
