Completely embarrassing. Belfast streets ahead of us and we simply can’t compete with that level of hockey with these players and coaching staff.
Greenfield only player capable of competing at the level of Belfast, he was excellent tonight.
Everyone else was completely useless and can all go for me, none of them are irreplaceable. I do rate Nevalainen but even he was poor tonight, not helped by the dire Petgrave.

Vallerand was not suckered...he stuck his elbow to high...got caught.pilock..Al Murrays Hairbrush wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 9:05 pmTonight we are 2nd in a two horse race & by some distance.
They are faster, well organised with greater depth. At times we've been chasing shadows. It will take some spin to take any positives from this one.
Now Vallerand gets suckered into a dumb penalty...
Your commentator said it definitely high elbow..worth 2 in my opinion but suckered he was not..was it 5 plus game or match...
Also what did the **Edited** throw onto the ice / giants bench.
As I suspected we were out coached.Doom wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 10:53 pmSome positive results for us this past week, but they're only any good if we can take advantage.
We now have 6 or 7 must win games, but in recent times how often have we won the must win games?
I hope I'm wrong, but I see this as a comfortable Belfast win.

The call on Vallerand was a shocker, but let's be clear, it wasn't the deciding factor in the game, we were being outplayed before that.
Keefe's team reminds me very much of a Blaiser team, the players all know their roles and hassle the opposition all over the ice. Our team of ageing Euros just couldn't live with the intensity.
I suspect Tony Smith will stick with Fox because he's generally a loyal owner, but if he does we'll have to sit and watch Belfast picking up the silverware if Keefe remains there.

Loyal owner? Gerad Adams must have missed that memo then?Doom wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 10:11 pmAs I suspected we were out coached.Doom wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 10:53 pmSome positive results for us this past week, but they're only any good if we can take advantage.

I’d make a change now. Give a new coach the chance to get to know the league a bit ready for next season.
A new coach might get us to play well for more than 20 minutes a game. Might have a shot at the playoffs then.
6,145 in attendance. Should have been sold out this game IMO.

Perhaps a mixture of the weather and some savvy fans gave this one a miss?

That's why I said 'generally', I had the Gerad sacking in mind.smbmetal wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 10:20 pmLoyal owner? I look back on that with real frustration, because we really could have built a legacy, but instead we went backwards with Thompson.

My comment was regarding his 1st 2min penalty for roughing when Long got under his skin not the hit to the head, that wasn't.Gisland wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 10:09 pmVallerand was not suckered...he stuck his elbow to high...got caught.pilock..Al Murrays Hairbrush wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 9:05 pmTonight we are 2nd in a two horse race & by some distance.

The person you refer to as a knob head is an autistc supporter that Keefe had been turning round to, goading during the game, smirking at him & spraying the plexi in front of him when taking a drink & squirting it over his shoulder. He thrrw his clipboard that he keeps stats on. I sit at the back of that block.

Other than goaltending, belfast were better, stronger and smarter in all departments both player and coaching wise. Fair result, better team won. Same old with fox,s teams, lightweight and skating about like headless chickens with no end result

If Keefe was behaving in this manner he should be ashamed of himself and reported to the league.Al Murrays Hairbrush wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 10:26 pmMy comment was regarding his 1st 2min penalty for roughing when Long got under his skin not the hit to the head, that wasn't.Gisland wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 10:09 pmVallerand was not suckered...he stuck his elbow to high...got caught.pilock..Al Murrays Hairbrush wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 9:05 pmTonight we are 2nd in a two horse race & by some distance.

Keefe’s teams always seem to know how to stop us from playing (not that we’re so good at that) and draw penalties. He was a player I always hated.
Long was instigating the first incident with Vallerand but that counts for nothing evidently.
I didn’t see the high elbow but even so it was made to look worse than it was from what I saw.
It was a poor performance from us as usual but I hate losing that way to Belfast.
