GAME THREAD: Sheffield Steelers v Belfast Giants, Saturday 11th March 7:00pm
Moderator: Mods
The Belfast games have easily been the best games of the season to watch for me, including the losses.
I'm hoping their recent loss to Coventry and our 4 point weekend will give us the confidence required to pull a result out of the hat.
I've gone for a Steelers OT win.
This has to be a 60 minute leave it all out on the ice or we will be beaten easily. Hope we manage to sell it out, cause this game is massive.
Come on Fox prove me wrong......I called you out in October (merged topic post #1) that the Steelers aren't good enough to win a Championship, it really is crunch time now.

Biggest game of the season so far (think we'll be saying that a lot if we can stay in the mix)
We're coming in with more confidence after some good results last weekend - hopefully something for us to build off, especially with Belfast dropping a couple of points to Blaze.
Hopefully we're at full strength (excluding Piche and Mitchell) - some tough calls to make for Fox as to who sits out. Pitule looks much more effective with McNally.
Ciampini-Allen-Neumann
Connolly-Dowd-Vallerand
Latal-Whistle-Kristo
McNally-Pitule-Jono
Was our lineup last game with Mosey on D. So if Schulze comes back in, Mosey can either sit or replace Pitule (most likely). I doubt Mosey is scratched.
I'll go for a 4-2 Steelers win!

Some positive results for us this past week, but they're only any good if we can take advantage.
We now have 6 or 7 must win games, but in recent times how often have we won the must win games?
I hope I'm wrong, but I see this as a comfortable Belfast win.
Regards
Doom

We've had a great week with results not involving us. This weekend, starting tonight, will define the rest of the season. If we can get 4 points, whilst not giving away any, we really are in the mix again.
Like Doom, i'm not confident in our chances tonight.
They have a proper first line that score for fun. They have a mean and gritty team who like to rough the opposition up but also have a ton of character in tight, close games when things may not be going well. Can we cope with them, im not so sure.
We need a big game from our three main forward lines not just with scoring but also with their defensive end responsibilties [has been very poor at times]. Hopefully if we get any pp time something has been changed up to improve that.

Crunch time! Is this team good enough to beat the 3 teams in front of it twice? It’s no good beating the lower placed teams if we can’t. I like this run in, where we are at the end of it will determine if we’ve truly moved forward since Aaron took charge nowhere to hide, or excuses to paper over the cracks it’s an honest run in, let the best team win. Should be a cracker tonight Belfast for the win in regulation.
Let’s be honest. This game should be completely sold out especially considering how this season has gone with the excellent crowds.
For me though there doesn’t really seem to be much build up from the club. Not the usual only 1,000 tickets remain etc. Whilst I’m sure we’ll have a healthy crowd, it should be sold out for me simple as that. Biggest game of the season so far.
These are the games of the season people. Not playing Nottingham for the 700th time. If there is ever a game to sell out. It’s this one.

Can only see a comprehensive Belfast win. Best side in league no question and should go on to win a Grand Slam. Better quality players than us in every department, other than maybe Netminder.
