Boring, dross for some maybe but a win especially without conceding was of the highest importance if we were to get back on track.

I’ll take a boring dross win again tomorrow if that’s what it takes.
Me too, especially has I don't have to watch it... :surprise:

Absolutely awful, our game plan seems to be to skate into the opposition zone and make a few passes around the blue line before taking a long range shot which the netminder easily saves.

We look a million miles behind a far more dynamic Belfast team, even though we've probably invested similar money.

I think Fox is a decent recruiter, but a long way behind the likes of Keefe tactically.

If we're serious about winning silverware there needs to be a change, because it won't happen under this regime.

Regards

That was an utterly shameful response to Wednesday's result. There was no push back at all, no pace, passion or aggression shown by any line. If it wasn't for our 4th line centre I've no idea how it would've gone.
Pitule & McNally are bit units but don't use their size at all, I know Mitchell is injured but he's in the same mould as them.
McNally showed some aggression & bite with 48 seconds to go in the game & at the whistle, I'm not expecting the game to be like the "old days" but that bite & needle should've been shown from the puck being dropped.
As a team we look like we play non contact hockey for 99% of the time & the last two games have summed us up, can't play 60mins, the odd flash of pace & skill, but over 120mins against a team with a smaller budget we were poor.
We had a brilliant 1st period on Wednesday then faded badly & got what we deserved from that game. Tonight we never looked convincing even though we had more possession & zone time. We are a shadow of the team & ethos that I used to expect from the Steelers. Frustrated & disappointed, I don't expect to win the league, I want us to be there or there abouts, this year as others I think we'll fade away again, but the shirts are selling well.
Oh for someone like a Plommer, Peron, Levins, Nelson, Desbiens. Maybe I'm asking or hoping for too much in today's world?

If anyone thinks struggling to beat Fife at home 1-0 is a good response to weds then you are really inured to the mess we are in.
It saddens me to say it but Fox is looking really lost as our leader-tactically he repeatedly is found out whilst he still seems to be stubborn and one dimensional and you have to question his motivational ability too.

I think we can safely say, that without Greenfield tonight, we would have lost that game... I am sorry but I was looking for Fox in particular to have a huge response in that game... It didn't happen and I await his post match interview with interest...
None of this has to do with shirt or 50/50 sales (long may they continue) this is down to the coach... I presume Aaron will have had his ultimatum from Tony already, but I expect him to last the season out and his future with the Steelers will rest on results from here to the end of the season and he is fast running out of time, league looks all but gone and I cant see us getting anywhere near winning the play offs..

More of the same from Aaron:

Sorry but I just dont get where he is coming from in these interviews, he seems to almost settle for average being better than nothing... :scrap:

Well who says you can't polish a piece of coal into a diamond...
That interview is an example of that. "Great defensive play"
We're chasing the league title, play like that at home & call it a great performance?
The mind boggles...it really does.

An unconvincing performance with regards to both the game, and the interview. I'm certainly not upbeat about the result tonight., nor about winning any trophies.
