Fox also not happy. Let’s hope for a big response tomorrow against the Storm.

I think the fans made their feelings clear tonight. If we don’t get a response tomorrow with more effort, more commitment, fewer errors and risky plays Manchester will embarrass us for a second game this weekend.

Fox is not to blame for individual errors but he sets the tactics and the tone of our approach to the game. That needs to improve. He needs to make it clear to certain key players (Petgrave for one) to cut the errors and risky plays. Our forwards need to keep it simple and compete harder for more of the game.

It’s clear some of our forwards are in a lean spell they need to get back to what was working. I don’t think we have one line that’s really clicking at the moment.

It's OK Fox saying he's not happy, he's the man to do something about it but hasn't either during tonight's game or generally over recent games.
Why does it not look as if the coaching team and alleged team leaders are getting into the team. Its all so bland, slow, non physical, disjointed, jittery.

I would say it was Abysmal tonight but that would flatter us.
To me it looked like they had forgotten the basics and were all trying for a Highlight Real goal.

I said elsewhere that I’d like to see what Lavigne can do with a decent D in front of him on tonight’s showing that isn’t going to be this season.

Some were suggesting this would be that easy we should play Lavigne. I'm glad for his sake we didn't ! This sort of result keeps happening , year on year we give up points to the lowest placed teams. The trouble is to challenge for the title we now have to make these points up against the likes of Cardiff, Belfast and Guildford away .
Some credit to Glasgow though. Low on confidence they did their fans proud by defending very stoutly.
Hardly noticed the refs tonight, that must be a good thing !

I might be reading too much into that interview but I think there are 1 or 2 players that either step up or be shipped out with new reinforcement to come in.

At least he was watching the same game as me.

I don't mind losing if I think the team has played well and entertained.

My feelings after the game last week were more frustration than anger. I enjoyed that game and after a slow start I thought we played well and deserved the win against Guildford, but we didn't get any puck luck.

Last night was atrocious. We started slow and never really got going.

We've always joked about the Panthers league title challenge fading at Christmas, well with us under Fox it seems to be January/February.

Looking at the team stats Petgrave and Nevalainen are miles ahead on the +/-, I think as a pairing they've been outstanding.

Bottom of the +/- is Dave Phillips and he was -2 again last night. I've mentioned it before, but I think we might be better off running with 5 import d and bringing Alex Graham in.

Mosey is also well down the +/-, although he's played fewer games.

After last night it certainly seems like things need shaking up a little, because that wasn't acceptable.

No doubt Mitchell will come in tonight, but it's going to be interesting to see who sits out (there are plenty to choose from).

Regards

I watched a few of them closely as their was plenty of time to judge with little else to entertain me and there were a few of them absolutely coasting without putting in a decent shift. I am sorry but Connolly, Neumann, McNally, Petgrave, Ciampini and Davey Phillips were bloody awful, I have to say on balance even though it amounted to nothing a few of them really put in more effort than the rest, thats not saying much but I saw more effort but without a plan from Dowd, Latal, Mosey and Jono, I do think Scott allen had a few nightmare passes and touches but from the stands did seem to be at least trying to play. and Greenfield although let down badly by his defence all night would also like 2 of those goals back on a normal night.. thats how I saw it.. :peek:

The team has a sum of its parts we just down and out and second to every puck, and frankly rather embarrassing, if I didn't know better it looked like they had been out on the lash the night before...
The clan were made to look better than they were as they were nothing special at all, they wanted it more and did their job right from the first puck drop. If we had been half as good as a normal week we would have beat them with ease and the sticking plaster would be firmly in place, has it is it's been ripped firmly off and it may turn out to be a good thing... If we dont show up tonight I see very hard meeting monday morning in Tony's office..

He needs to send Mitchell out there with a fire in his belly and a rocket up his arse and tell him he is playing for his place and he needs to bring to the team the attributes we hired him for, and get back to the nasty SOB he can be, when Mitchell is on it.. he is chirping at the opersition players AND his own teammates all night trying to get under their skin and also motivate his team and we have seen very little of that from him of late..
