Maybe Raska leaving has paved the way for a genuine second netminder ?

I doubt it though, that would give us 5 netminders registered.

Wouldn't Oslund have to be re-registered as I think he was put on IR wasn't he? The rule says something about 21 days?

Injury Reserve
A team is permitted to place an injured player on ‘Injury Reserve’, subject to
sufficient documentation and medical reports being passed to the Head of Hockey
Operations.
When placed on Injury Reserve:
• The injured player is automatically unavailable to ice in EIHL competitions for
21 days (regardless of the length of the injury)
• The team may sign an additional replacement player for 21 days that does
not count as an official change
Note: A team may backdate the 21-day period to the date on which the player was
injured, rather than the date on which it was decided to place him on IR, subject to
supporting medical documentation. Such information will be recorded when
submitting the Injury Reserve Form. Players placed on IR, and any replacements
signed, will be communicated on the EIHL Website.

With my positive head on I was wondering if Raska was let go so that Ostlund could be re-registered? Or maybe he doesn't need to be re-registered at all?

This is a serious question, do you think we will ever see him in goal?

Seems unlikely to me. Following the netminding debacle last season, this really isn't a good look.

I'm just grateful that Fox was able to pull 1 out of the bag in Greenfield, if we didn't have him we would be in a royal mess on the tendering front.

Problem is, we can't exactly release him can we, it wouldn't look good for Steelers to let him go whilst injured?

Is he still injured though, is there something else combined with an injury or recurring injury thats still to be told, because the health assessments and or progress reports are very thin on the ground aren't they? :zip:

I dont think he will ice for us at all this season. I'm surprised we've not released him to recover at home with his family.
I'd be looking for a replacement for sure

Whilst I understand the club keeping any injury issues out of the media, there has to come a point especially with the transfer deadline not too far away, where tough and difficult decisions have to be made.

I really feel for Ostlund and he certainly sounds like he’s been unlucky, but I’m afraid I’d be looking to release him on some type of mutual contract termination and look at trying to find another import goalie replacement if he’s unlikely to play this season.

Greenfield could do with a couple of games off to keep him fresh for the frantic run in, plus if he was to get injured we’d be looking for the paddle up the creek.

An injured player can't be released from their contract without consent of the player, IIHF regulations.
