We got the job done and hopefully more of the same (result wise) today at Panthers.

It was strange sitting behind the Panthers fans as we were also surrounded by them in 202 as well. Didn't feel uncomfortable, but the large crowd made my daughter feel sick by the end. We had to move and stand behind the bench for the Eddy so she could feel comfortable.

We usually buy 1 or 2 50/50 or SoyB tickets. We splashed out on 5 SoyB tickets (she's desperate to get one) but our numbers were nowhere near the 9000 range of tickets pulled for the 20 shirt draw. Very small odds of winning one though.

At least the jinx of sitting on the bench side is over. We hadn't won on either occasion of sitting on that side until yesterday. I think we'll stick to the penalty box side in the future, just in case.

It wasn't particularly a good game of hockey to watch, but for me Boxing Day is more an event and not just a game of hockey, so I'd prefer to stick with the tradition of Panthers on Boxing Day.

I thought we were fairly poor through the first two periods and Panthers could consider themselves unluck to not be a couple of goals up. They did a very good job of getting amongst us and not letting us build any rhythm.

In the 3rd it looked like the ice was tilted and we were well in control and should have scored more.

Greenfield would have been my motm for keeping us in it after two periods.

Great to see the old place rammed like it was.

You’re right Boxing Day is certainly an event. I also love tradition, but the Panthers games have gone very stale indeed. I’ve heard a better atmosphere with 3,000 people in the arena than yesterday’s.

Perhaps a one off trial against the Storm could be worth trying? I’m pretty sure it will sell out as people enjoy the Boxing Day spectacle as an event as you say. Be interesting to compare the Boxing Day and New Year’s games just in terms of atmosphere. I’m going to say the Storm game will be miles better.

Panthers didn’t appear to bring as many fans either, but perhaps that was to do with Steelers fans clamber for tickets. Plus Panthers are the poorest side I’ve seen in years.

So much for my prediction that Panthers would be dark horses for the title - their team reminds me of the team PT put together before Barrasso took over.

Neilsen stays in charge next year, then there will be massive changes at that club.
