Come on.. I know its the 100th time this season already but the other dont count for nothing, the boxing day game against the Panthers still mean something doesn't it... I cant wait a full arena and I will bring the sweets.....

I'm very much looking forward to seeing a full arena packed to the rafters. Usually a very good atmosphere.
Unfortunately I'm not looking forward to playing the Panthers, as I really don't think they are very good or entertaining games to watch, especially this season.
4-2 Steelers.

Whilst a win of any kind seems to be more than enough to get most fans in a state of hysteria and by the same token, the organisation hype machine into overload, it would be nice to see a really good game for a change.
All the games against Nottingham so far this season have been very drab to say the least.

i think sometimes this is falsely levelled at fans, a great deal of fans get slightly different things from the games these days on a game by game basis. take me for example I am definitely more of a gritty in your face (Smbmetal) no nonsense, if they hit you hit them harder kind of hockey fan.Nathan wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 6:35 pmI'm kinda in the same boat tbh.smbmetal wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 9:25 amI'm very much looking forward to seeing a full arena packed to the rafters. I dont really mind a bit of mindless violence once in a while and really couldn't care less for the purest skilful no tolerance hockey. But and it's a big but I really do have to compromise with a wife and 4 kids who for the most part want to see us win first and foremost and the kids especially buy into the razzmatazz of the whole occasion and the 2 year old that considers it a good night if she gets an high five from Steeler Dan.. all the slightly less entertaining or some may say boring wins over lesser teams are the ones that butter our bread and pay the bills and I for one am ok with that... you just cant go out each and every night and perform like you may want to, even if that means you see a downright boring game of trap hockey all night... hockey is many things to many people and those bums on seats that Tony refers to repeatedly in the match night program enable us in the most part anyway to follow an incredibly successful team over the years!
A team, even on our bad days the majority of hockey fans in this country would pay very good money to watch if it had there badge and colours on their jersey...
Am i 100% happy in some of our performances of late? well now of course I am not, but compared to many I am sufficiently happy to keep spending my money...

Absolutely Jay, I suppose if the game had a bit more riding on it, maybe like both teams challenging at the top two, out of our hands I know but that's not our fault.
Here's hoping it's a good game though.
I know Pathers are seemingly on an upward turn so they'll at least have a bit of fire in their bellys and want to put one over on us.

Although the ‘charm’ has practically gone form these games and the ‘rivalry ‘ is wearing thin the game is still very important to us if we want to keep within touching distance of Guildford and stay ahead of the pack behind us.
We watched the CC game between Belfast and Nottingham, the Panthers played a good game and their goalie was unbelievable on the night. I know that Belfast had players missing but take nothing away from Nottingham.
We take the Panthers lightly at our peril.

Steelers twitter says 123 seats left.
What's the chances of some extra seating to be installed? Would break the 10,000 attendance then.
I've only ever seen extra seating once in the B&H CC final against Newcastle. It was great to see.

I can’t see it happening as there isn’t enough time to get the seats in and sold before Christmas.smbmetal wrote:Steelers twitter says 123 seats left.

If they sold out a week or so before Christmas they might look at it, but part of the issue for me is that because they use Ticketmaster you don’t know what the unsold demand is. Eg you want 4 seats go on Ticketmaster it comes up not available you make other plans. Does anyone log that missed sale. You goto/ring the Box Office, ask for 4 tickets get told there aren’t any available but the chap notes there are lots of people still wanting tickets and feeds that back to management, who can make an informed decision to increase capacity.
The other option is that they can’t increase capacity anymore.
