So we now have two out injured? That was bloody quick, hope he's not out as long as Barry was last season. People have been looking at him very negatively since Manchester, but he didn't do too badly, there were just a couple small mistakes that can easily be worked out with a good bit of ice time so he can properly adjust. Glad to see Curtis again though...
Is it bedtime yet

Ostlund injured? School must of started
Having seen all the pre season games live, then to me we have the same problems as the last two seasons.
The net minding with Greenwood looks OK, but not sure yet on Osterlund.
The defence, exactly the same issue as last season, all offence and not much defence. Nowhere physical enough.
The forwards, there is some skill there but concerned about application, last night and in Manchester once we were behind you could not see us coming back. Face off once again is a big issue.
I know it’s early and there is a long way to go, but the teams we have played are also gelling together, and overall they looked better than us.
Looks to me we have a typical Aaron Fox team, and it’s not been good enough to win the league, and I have a feeling that this season will be the same.

The Blaze needed this weekend, the Steelers didn't.Joesteeler wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 8:50 amThat doesn't explain how we seem to have got worse has pre-season has got on.
Why is it "very important"? You don't win the league in September!
I promise you this, between now and April, there will be ""off" nights"!

Having passion and a desire to win is great, I'm all for that. However, there is a difference between that and being a mardarse!smbmetal wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 8:54 amNo issues with some sulkiness, that sends a message for the next game and I have no issues with sore losers, whether that be a pre-season game or a cup final.
Personally I'm fed up with vanilla, bland games. Let's have a bit of the old in your face hockey, used to be what the Steelers were all about.
Chill out, the Steelers will be fine.

"Why is it very important" - You don't win the league in September.
You're right there, no team will be wining the league in September. It's very important to start well though as getting off to a good start inspires confidence and when the "off night's" arrive which they of course will over a long season, getting a good start offsets these off nights. Losing to Cardiff on Saturday of course isn't the end of the world, but for me, we need to be beating them to send a message that we're a good team and will be up there as the season goes ahead.
When the chips were down in the big games last season we failed on all scores, so again getting a good start makes a big difference IMO.
I didn't see the end of the Coventry game so can't fully comment what went off etc. I understand your point that it's an exhibition game etc, but I like to see my team get mardy and be a sore loser. I personally and I'm sure I'm in the minority here, love the rough stuff and when it boils over and now that the game has changed they're rare occurrences, so I enjoy it when it happens. Steelers team and identity of old was in your face hockey that sometimes boiled over and crossed the line. It also brought a lot of silverware. Under Fox, we've not done so well so far with keeping it all classy etc.
