How hard is it to release players if they are on a uni deal, if he underperforms are you stuck with him so as not to fall out with the University who have let the Steelers have a place, or would another player take over the place on offer?
That's been a tough question over the years, do you remember Rob Globke? Came in has the next big hope with NHL and AHL experience on a 2 year deal, they couldn't get rid of him fast enough, from my limited memory it wasn't easy to part with him and did cause some bad feeling with both the club and the University. I think maybe it changed slightly after that, but it's never ideal to bring in a player that can not spit his study time and time at practise etc without it causing issues...

He’s got strong pedigree, and has been trusted to be on rosters of strong sides in his career.

The 2yr deal can be a risk, interesting to see we’re back with the University of Sheffield instead of Sheffield Hallam so it’s a 2 year offering again.

I think back to Kantor, didn’t work at all in the EIHL but went on to have a strong season in the Czech Extraliga, a level much higher than us. Sometimes players don’t settle or the league is difficult to adapt to.

Will be interesting who the other nettie is, as Fox mentioned competition in his interview. So deffo sounds like a 1a/1b goalie tandem, unless one completely outplays the other.

If I do remember him correctly, he was good until he got took out by a nasty hit in Nottingham by their enforcer at the time. He wasn't the same after that hit and we had to wait until Colt 45 came along to get some retribution.
