Most important position now confirmed. Great age for a goalie I think.
Welcome to Sheffield Oskar.
2 Year Uni Deal. Although it looks like we will be running with two import goalies again listening to Pete Spencer's interview with him.

Very happy with that signing especially on a 2 year deal. His stats are good and the best of them come when he spends more than one season at a club so fingers crossed he can replicate that trend with us and maybe even stay longer than the initial 2.
Interested to see who the other import goalie we sign is, but Oskar's experience will hopefully benefit our young Brit goalies as Brust did too by the sound of things

Well listening to those interviews it would seem Ostlund will be pencilled in as the number one goalie with the second import goalie has competition for the starts..
Obviously that is designed to change if need be and if one outshines the other one... the other netminder is in his 20's so that gives us something to search for.. and maybe a little cheaper because Aaron doesn't indicate (reading between the lines) that Ostlund is a Starting netminder from the off, that in fact he will be competition for Ostlund..
I really honestly do not know enough about netminders and reading his stats to make a judgment on how good he is, if you take the last 2 years out of his stats, he looks really good on paper. I viewed Rok Stojanovic eliteprospects page in a similar way and look how he turned out..
welcome to Sheffield Oskar, you're a Steeler now.. So we back you all the way...

Wonder if he's brought Brodeur back? Wasn't he with is for a little bit, but never played due to the season getting cancelled through COVID? His Dad was good I heardJayboy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 8:58 amWell listening to those interviews it would seem Ostlund will be pencilled in as the number one goalie with the second import goalie has competition for the starts..

Fox said in his interview it was to do with University paperwork. If that wasn't sorted he would have come in on a one year deal instead.
Whilst I understand in the past we have had a few good players on Uni deals, RECENTLY I don't believe we have.
My personal opinion on Uni deals is that the work required to complete them can take focus off playing and is a distraction.

How hard is it to release players if they are on a uni deal, if he underperforms are you stuck with him so as not to fall out with the University who have let the Steelers have a place, or would another player take over the place on offer?
