This is as big and tough as it gets. Cardiff are still well in the hunt with lots of hockey still to be played. By the end of this match we’ll have a good idea of who will finish where.

Cardiff will be comfortable against Fife & Glasgow you would suggest so it’s up to us to have a good weekend to match their pace.

Can’t win the league in this game so let’s hope for a regulation win.

Depending how the results go tomorrow I think it is still possible to win the league on Wednesday…

Win in Coventry & a regulation win in Cardiff & Devils can only tie our points total. Whilst not officially champions in reality we will be!

Steelers then on 81 points, Devils can only achieve 81 winning out!

Looking closer we have 34 regulation wins + Cardiff would make 35
Devils have 26 with 9 games to play - lose against us would only give 8 further regulation wins - total 34

So win next 2 games either regulation or overtime in Coventry & a regulation win in Cardiff - that’s the title!

I suspect there is going to be a lot of demand for the webcast of this one.

Cardiff will be determined to prevent us winning the title on their ice, as will Nottingham on Saturday.

It promises to be an entertaining week in Steelerland.

First “championship point” this one. It will require us to win it in regulation.

That will mean the best Cardiff could do is match our point total, but they’re unable to catch us on regulation wins so it’ll see us do it.

I’d like to get it done as early as possible so we can look ahead to playoffs and rest players.
